I know it’s not the same but it was part of the weekend the green un Maybe enough time as passed now with the increase in technology where I understand the printing and distribution costs are too much to make the old green un a viable business in its old format but I’d be happy to subscribe to get a weekly version on my iPhone or tablet ive found myself reading much more on my phone over the years could it be an opportunity for a re-launch of the once great paper or was it a generational thing where half of us wouldn’t get on with online reading? the one thing that couldn’t happen is it having all those pop ups the star has. Id go along the lines of paying £2.50 per week subscription though does anyone know or would have an educated gues in what it would cost and how many subscribers / fees it would take to do an online version? my very uneducated stab wound be about £100,000 per week and it would need 40,000 subscribers at £2.50 per week 80,000 subscribers at £1.25 per week Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

OxonOwl Posted March 29, 2022 Share Posted March 29, 2022 I vaguely remember a game us v Leicester in the cup and we were winning in injury time and a reporter for the star or express or summat sacked off early wrote his piece and sent it to the paper. They published that result in the early editions. However Leicester scored a late equalizer and won in extra time. I hope I have remembered this correctly. Straight after game, get bus to my local shop with my grandad, wait for the green un to be delivered then straight to chippy.
