The subs yesterday

Recommended Posts

I did like the way we used the subs yesterday.

Most likely the substitutions were not necessary, but it was just nice that Iorfa, Sow and Paterson got some gametime.

We should do the same with some youngsters in future. Just put them on at 80+ minutes and let them shine.

Keeping all players involved this way is so much better than changing the starting eleven all the time.

What do you think?

Should have taken Bannan off at

2-1

That would have been very rude at his 300th game!

But that brings me to another point. The last few minutes of the game I had the impression, that the whole team tried to help Bannan to score a goal.

Was this just my wishful thinking, or did anybody else see/feel that?

The first two subs were not done for the sake of giving minutes. NML couldn’t do 90 and we needed Sow on to stretch them in a similar way.

Iorfa was bought on for his pace and to try and negate Alfie May who was getting in behind.

Patterson I’ll give ya.

What I did notice yesterday was a great togetherness, a real happy feeling of camaraderie in the goal celebrations. Obviously helped by a good performance but nonetheless lovely to see.

Let's hope the confidence this breeds carries on down the final straight, and into the championship.
