Tom Bates - and Wednesday getting with the times

Recommended Posts

It was a sensible appointment, and one which we really should have made years ago.

There have been some signs of a stronger mentality at times this season, but the fragility and seeming complacency of recent seasons appears all too evident, still.

Hopefully his continued influence really starts to pay off at we enter the final stretch of the season.

In the past the best managers were good at knowing a footballers psychology.

In all elite sports now days a sports psychologist is employed and important.

How about employing a psychologist for the Wednesday fans. Last season specially I could have used some help with supporting Wednesday. I think we suffer much more than the players seem to show.

Can we employ a throw in specialist too please? Our most dangerous times are when we have a throw in in an attacking position. Dangerous to us that is, we just give the ball away and panic.

We have a very good attacking option with Paterson and his long throws. However as long throws are no longer in vogue with the coaching badger teachers we don't use it.

The FA coaching is absolutely mind numbing, overthought, over analysed rubbish.

Many footballers use sports psychologist. They are vital part of the modern game, help players cope with stress etc. All clubs should have access to them.
