Presumably the same can be said of a £1m desso pitch if you dont look after it, year on year it gets worse. The grass in Hillsborough park is in better nick than the Hillsborough stadium. Blatter Posted February 24, 2022 Share Posted February 24, 2022 Quiet news day, on the sporting front at least, so the local press seem to be searching out every comment players have made about the Hillsborough pitch recently. In fact there are two comments. One by Liam Palmer almost two weeks ago and one by Jack Hunt today. Before going full Tonto on this let’s see how it plays on Saturday after a couple of dry days and a couple of weeks for the ground staff to work on it. It’s the end of a long Winter and we all know some of the reasons like lack of sunlight , high water table etc. But hey these guys are professionals and must be able to adapt to different playing conditions. At the end of the day our players are used to playing on it. Visiting teams are not. Surely we have an advantage in that respect. Anyway what’s betting the sprinklers are on pre the game Saturday.
