More likely made it up to create headlines and fan anger.

Really poor journalism

Yeah thats it.

They sat down together over a coffee and thought lets make a rumour up to ******** off  Willow Owl.

Then sat back cackling.

Thats exactly what they did.

Or maybe just maybe their source was incorrect for once.

But in good faith went with it.

Don’t think it was pragmatic really. Not sure why you offer a player on a 2 month contract and let it expire during the window which could lead to other clubs taking him.

If he’s good enough to be offered a deal in the first place, I’d have just given him until the end of the season. That would just be a 6 month or so deal. He was on trial for long enough and Moore said he wanted to sign him pretty quickly.

If no club wanted to touch him with a barge pole I doubt his wage is that much of a problem. Find it strange, unless it’s being reported inaccurately.

Might have been done as a favour to the player.

I might be wrong but if they are under contract outside the window. He wouldn't be able to join another club. This season. If his contract ended in Feb. Rather than now.

Think it's the same reason, why you can't sign free agents, who have had there contracts cancelled outside the window in say February.

If they were free agents during the window, you are ok to take them on outside the window.

Don’t think any journo would have to try too hard to create fan anger amongst our social media nutcases

If he’s had false info it’s not exactly end of the world is it,   Who’s to say there wasn’t anything in it and DM was just pushing it under the carpet

Agree, you only have to look at this thread.

Thing is, these so called journalists ( some not all ) can say anything and a section of the fans will believe anything.

Always thought it was guff, you only have to listen to comments made by DM and NML earlier in the week.

Some of the posts on here are embarrassing

They’ll be accusing DM, NML and the club of telling lies and the Journalists were always telling the truth.

Sorry, but that’s rubbish. Personally I think Alex and Joe are the best we’ve had.

It was news and they reported it.

He literally could’ve walked away on Monday, and you’d have been complaining that the local media hadn’t found out why.

I used to think that too but last nights post from Alex was malicious at best, trying to turn Wednesdayite’s against the club & each other (as proven by the usual balloons on here & other platforms diving in & as usual making themselves look foolish) ……..

Or at worse proving that his finger is so far removed  from the pulse of the club that you can’t believe a word he writes & his position as a specialist Wednesday journalist is now pretty much untenable!

To have to publish a retraction, thinly disguised as an update less than 18 hours after the original debacle is pretty damming!

He does a great job covering us and tbh you are the one that jumps down peoples throats if they dare criticise the club. And turns people against each other.

Now you are trying to scapegoat him cause of one article and cause divisions.

His position is untenable?? Give over.

I’m not the one reporting on Wednesday for a living!

His original article shows awful judgment & poor research……….. Feel free to believe anything he writes in the future….. Many won’t!

Journalists get it wrong sometimes, it happens.

In no way does Alex benefit from knowingly pushing a false story. He'd lose access to the club and his integrity and reliability would rightly be questioned.

He's been fed information by a trusted source that was clearly a load of tosh.

Now the question is, was his source simply mistaken? Or does the source have another reason for pushing that agenda?

Shock, horror a journalist gets a story wrong.

Newspapers have numerous stories that are all bull and spin, some rags we know are worse than others!

Joe Crann and Alex Miller do a great job and the standard of Wednesday journalists is better than before.

Certainly their contributions would be missed by most if they packed in. He got this one wrong it seems; it happens. The reactions by some people to both the initial report and now to the update/retraction is laughable.

Feel free to be a petulant immature tw*t because one source was wrong. Its happened to loads of journalists and it doesnt stop level headed people reading future articles.

But keep sniping at fellow fans who may at times have valid criticisms of the club and snidely try and discredit Alex Miller. Why have such a hysterial reaction?

And you will be surprised to find people will read his stuff as not everyone is petulant and immature.

He’s purporting to be a sports journalist specialising on Wednesday……. A simple fact check phone call may have saved him huge embarrassment!

Cheers.
