disagree , a fit hutch can play in a back 3 in the champ , and baz / iorfa  too. I’d also argue Theres a few others too who could certainly do a Job in champ

Bo other team in the championship would have Hutchinson because he is never fit for a period of time

Hence why he had to go to Cyprus and we was the only club stupid enough to bring him back to england

Going TBH here and did wonder about the 'motivation' of bringing him back by the manager & Chairman...

who knows?

He's a very good striker for this division.

Class act, is stretching it a bit.

Agree smart piece of work by GM to spot him and utilise an attacking midfielder as an attacker, ditto Patterson....for which Monk has had little if any credit for...

Iorfa Windass and bannan obviously could but Hutchinson showed last season he is a squad player at best even when he is fit. Palmer and Patterson are champ squad players and would probably only command regular starting places in teams at the lower end of the table. Hunt as well maybe.

Warnock converted Paterson to a forward, not Monk

Not at SWFC he didnt....and he certainly wasn't brought in as a striker, but as an attacking midfielder who GM  fancied could score the goals from that position that have been lacking...

If that’s the case why did we announce him as a forward and then use him as a striker immediately after he joined us?

No doubt.

He's the one player who makes the biggest difference when he plays, but crikey, doesn't having an attacker with Windass' pace, touch, and finishing help, as well?

Think it’s all about the spine!

If Hutchinson Luongo Windass (even if Windass comes on) then that makes the difference for us.

No one doubts his footballing ability, it's just the injury concerns with Windass. Putting all your eggs in the baskets of injury prone players is a risky game, just a shame all our best players are the injury prone ones, Windass, Luongo and Hutch. They all need managing properly and maybe playing once a week and missing any midweek games. If these 3 play 75% of the rest of the season we comfortably finish in the play offs.

Because we had NO  forwards that were either available or in favour...same applied to Windass....you forgotten already the restrictions that GM  had to contend with...

So you’re saying Monk brought him in as an attacking midfielder despite:

- swfc announcing him as a forward

- monk picking him as a forward every single game

- monk saying in an interview he wanted to add him to the forward line options

its ok to be wrong mate

Your right,i got mixed up,i knew what i meant but mispoke....he did play behind the forwards in a 10 role,at Cardiff and Patterson himself prefers that, ideally but he was brought in specifically as a forward only by GM
