Popular Post Lord Snooty
"Looking forward to it ,Sir?" "Looking forward to what?" "The game,Sir. Wednesdays first home fixtures in nearly 6 weeks" "6 weeks, is it really that long?" "It is, Sir." "Feels like 6 weeks since our last win." "No Sir. 5." "Well that's near enough! Woeful. Woeful I tell you!" "That 5 weeks does include a period of 19 days without a game though, Sir , due to the Covid-19 outbreak. May I suggest you're painting a gloomier picture than the reality. There have, after all only been 2 defeats in your last 14 games" "I suppose when you put it like that. I mean to say, get a result tomorrow and things look a bit rosier in the garden so to speak. It's only two defeats. During a Covid and injury crisis. Nothing to stop us getting back on the horse." "Indeed, Sir" "Who have we got?" "Plymouth Argyle, Sir" "FFS!. Forget about it Wake me again for Ipswich" WEDNESDAY V PLYMOUTH 3:00pm Kick off Hillsborough Stadium Sheffield ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY Under fire Wednesday boss Darren Moore has Auzzie Massimo Luongo back in contention to play after serving a 3 match suspension and may put the combatative midfielder straight back into midfield after two pointless games against Lee Johnsons Sunderland against a lowly but lively Shrewsbury Town. Striker Josh Windass has also been training after a niggle and could play alongside Lee Gregory. The Owls second top scorer Florian Kamberi may face a late fitness test. The will be without player of the month Chey Dunkley who is suffering from a hamstring injury. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLYMOUTH Steven Schumacher saw his side dig deep in their FA Cup tie versus Birmingham, scoring in extra time to advance to the fourth round of the tournament for a second successive campaign. Under their 37-year-old manager from Liverpool, this team have put together some excellent, free-flowing passing and have been on the right end of many results, losing only once in their last five matches played. They are currently positioned to earn the final qualification spot for the League One playoffs, a significant improvement from their previous campaign when they finished 18th. Even before Schumacher became the manager, this team showed that they are not intimidated when it comes to playing on the road, losing only three of their 12 games played in the league this season away from home. Plymouth substitute Ryan Law was the hero for his side over the weekend as Jordan Houghton set him up for the game-winning goal versus Championship side Birmingham. The last time Ryan Hardie found the back of the net was in their FA Cup victory over the Owls last November, but the Scottish international still leads them in goals this season with nine, tied for seventh in the league with Marcus Harness from Portsmouth. Michael Cooper has not conceded a goal since a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland on December 11 as their back five of Conor Grant, Macaulay Gillesphey, Dan Scarr, James Bolton and Joe Edwards did not allow a single shot on target in their weekend cup tie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FORM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9

trumbullowl
Surely we couldn't play a (third division) team four times in a season and not score even once. So I'll go with Wednesday 1 Plymouth X. X=0, P=3 X=1, P=1 X>1, P=0 Trouble is I think the probability graph of X looks like a plane taking off. Sorry. Optimism in short supply. UTO. Thanks Snooty. 3.00am KO, literally no positives, and a tough game against a good team, what a labour of f@cking love it is to support Wednesday under this owner.......the only momentary respite was the thread titled "takeover" it was good for the 4 seconds it lasted. NobbyStyle
Great OMDT Lord Snooty. Difficult to make any predictions. I do find myself thinking about posting the same phrases as last season though like “hope for a better performance” Anyway UTO
