Glorious

Also at that game on the south stand ( i think its called that) there were loads of wednesdayfans around us cheering shutts goal when it went in. Bizarre now thinking that we were all openly celebrating that goal in 'their' stand.

I wouldnt dream of it now, despite football violence being a fraction of what it was back then

Man City away in 84  for feeling of violence.

41,000 there cities biggest gate if the season.

As to danger ,the fearfull crush outside Oakwell in 81, a night game with 28,000 there

Oakhill was there as a kid got dragged up and over turnstiles as couldn't move in the crush I was 5.

Tottenham White Hart Lane 1993. Won 2-0 But remember pub before fearing for my life. Rough was an understatement. Women playing pool where 6 foot 5 and looked like they would kill you. Ney mind blokes in there.

Also West Ham 1992 won 2-1 Jemson winner nearly died from the crush when winner went in. But afterwards remember it being a tad naughty.

Just going on the West Ham game, Nearly lost my footing when Jemmo scored the winner and thankfully someone grabbed hold of myself.🙄

Yeah, the Barnsley game was scary when the gates went down. Similar situation at Grimsby on Christmas 1983, you really couldn't move on the terraces after the gates went down. Another bad crush was at Leicester in 1982 (2-0 win) when it was difficult to move

Went when we won Varadi scored a cracker !!

Portsmouth was deffo the scariest place when we won 1-0 Megson scored from halfway line 1983.

The only thing scary that day was the thought of catching Pneumonia after getting soaked to the skin, frozen to the bone and being on the infamous "Slow Train From Portsmouth" (ICO) that had no flipping heating!

My jacket got so wet that my programme (which I'd put in the inside breast pocket) turned into papier mache before we'd got to half time!

Chelsea Away Rumbleows Cup semi, 1991.  Div 2 club having the audacity to beat them (would have been a worse beating too had Hirsty not scuffed it after taking on half their team in a mazy run).  Coaches got bricked and the driver had to go peddle down to get the fk out

Both in the 80s mine, one was at chelsea when the police escort just melted and chelsea fans just came from every direction in huge numbers and it became a battle all the way to the station and man city a night game wed  parked down a derelict side street and couldnt remember where the car was persued by at least 100 man city fans, stumbled on the car by accident and roared away with broken windows and bricks bouncing off the bonnet really hairy, still managed to take a few out with some well aimed debris along the way.

I remember the night in Donny, league cup 2nd leg, id got locked up and they let me go just as the train had left, barstewards, and four pubs emptied along a street to the station as they made me out as an owl, i just stopped to get a 2nd wind along the way and knocked the closest two clean out then legged it to the station and had to jump in a taxi!

Happy days!

Millwall at home, I think the 01-02 season. It was a Tuesday night kick off. Me and a mate were in town and got on the 302 that the interchange that took you to Hillsborough. Bus had literally just set off when me and my mate realised it was full of Millwall lads. Barely got out the interchange when one of their biggest lads asked us where we were from. That went well!

Millwall away, 1979. It was a midweek game at the old Den, I have never been so frightened in my life. They were trying to get into the away end all game. We were absolutely barraged with bricks after the game and we travelled back up the M1 with barely a window in the coach. I vowed I’d never go to Millwall again, and so far I’ve stuck to it!
