EFL - joke .. again

Recommended Posts

I see EFL have bent over for the big clubs again… postponing the league cup semi final because Liverpool can’t get a team, yet spurs got a bye when Leyton orient couldn’t field a team for the same reason… joke

Premier League U23 sides need to be kicked out of the EFL Trophy, with the whole thing scrapped if necessary, and the clubs told in no uncertain terms that their kids teams playing anywhere in the competitive league structure is dead as an idea.

The idea that Liverpool, Chelsea etc can't fulfil fixtures at any level is an absolute joke.

The amount of players Chelsea have got, they could probably put a team out in every league quite comfortably.

Didn't they also reject Aston Villas plea and they had to put their Under 23's out this season or last season?

I'm sure they'll give Liverpool the same punishment that they gave Leyton Orient

We’re in the middle of a pandemic unfortunately which isn’t going away any time soon. The footballing authorities need to properly take account of this.

IMHO, kicking clubs out of competitions because they can’t fulfil fixtures due to COVID shows the sport in a bad light externally and is bad for its reputation.

Its similar to trying to force teams to play their reserves/u23's in order to fulfil league fixtures...yet theyre happy to dish out fines if you do the same in cup fixtures for undermining the competition
