CourteenerOwl
Hopefully we are all in agreement the man is not a striker. Yet Moore keeps on playing him upfront as if magically he is going to start performing an understand the role. On Tuesday we were slow upfront, really slow. People may argue we had no other options seeing as Berahino and Sow are about as useful as any of us. However, he could have played NML in behind Gregory, a position he has played many times. Yes Patterson scored 10 goals upfront in the Champ for us, but we went down. Patterson can be useful but hardly ever as a CF. He is not good enough with his back to goal, he is better when facing the goal. His best performances this season have come from right wing back. Surely Moore cannot keep attempting to play him upfront.
RighthOwlon
He’s not a striker, but he’s a very good finisher. Personally I think his ideal position is just behind a front two where he can be a bar steward, win lots of headers and layoffs but also pick up loose balls just outside the box.

He is okay when he has to shoot without thinking off the cuff, but his actual finishing is woeful. Did you not remember last season some of the misses
McRightSide
I honestly don’t think there was another viable option in midweek That said, I think his best performances have been at RWB Given the defending the other night I think Moore will need his leadership at the back so I expect him to be alongside Palmer and Johnson

the monk
Don't think I've seen a footballer in my life where I don't know what he does or where he plays Apparently he's a bar steward and good at 5hithousery ,I don't know what this new terminology means ,is it good ?

I thought he was a bit suspect at CB with some dodgy moment. His best performance this season imo was Sunderland at home where he was RWB.

Pressman 1
got 9 for us last season playing up top at championship level, think that this time hes been found out no pace just rough and tumble but unfortunately most times at this level have a centre half of the same ilk need pace in the side we have very little of it
Mr. Tom
It’s so weird that you can get to Champ level as a professional footballer without really having a clear position - you can imagine it if they’re just Messi-level technically dazzling or whatever, but it’s incredibly unusual if your CV is more ‘reyt big unit who’ll have a go at owt’ If we were completely down to bare bones and definitely starting Gregory, I’d sooner stick Patterson somewhere in the back line and throw almost anyone more mobile up top. Is Adedoyin still deemed way too green as things stand?
striker
He's a trier, can be a nuisance for the opposition, but never has been and never will be a centre forward. Just shows how poor our striking options and/or Moore's team selection delusions are that he's repeatedly asked to play up there.
0114
He’s openly said in that interview a few weeks ago that his preferred role is as a 10 who can make runs into the box. That was where he predominantly players during 17/18 season which saw him score 10 & assist 5 in 32 games.
DIPPS_S.W.F.C
All our forwards are a 6 or at tops 7 at best out of 10. No where near a good enough forward line to get promotion, think Moore was relying on wingers to chip in too but,it hasn't worked. UTO

jonnyowl
His effort and commitment are never in doubt for me, lacks quality on the ball. You're not going to create chances with him and Gregory upfront. His best performances have been in defence!

BRUCE LEE
Paterson plays in the gap between the midfield and Gregory, aimlessly running around, fouling people and creating attacking possession from scraps Which is fine when we are chasing games When that is plan A, you know you’re going to be inconsistent and painful to watch We’re rarely in full control of the ball going forward Gregory needs a partner playing next to him, not behind Scrap the Paterson plan until we’re desperate, release Berahino and get Gregory a solid partner up top this window

He’s our 4th choice striker, which is pretty decent.
