TheEnchanter
But we have won 6 of our last 19 League 1 games. It will be tough. What is a good result here?

striker
Of course we should win, that's true for the majority of games this season. Teams at the top are showing it's a credible expectation. The issue isn't the quality of the opposition, which remains poor/average (at best), but our shortcomings getting this very expensively assembled, supposedly big name squad playing anywhere near its potential. 2 2
agentwalker
don't care anymore at the moment. Win or loss I just want a change and something different. things just aren't moving, we aren't getting better, if anything its getting worse game by game. 5
TheEnchanter
It should show us a lot about the squad mentality. If they don't turn up again it feels like the start of a collapse. They simply have to make up for Sunderland. Anything less and meltdown will happen.
areNOTwhatTHEYseem
Going into any game without a recognised senior centre back is always asking for trouble. We've just got to hope our patched-together defence can hold up better than they did against Sunderland.
Manwë
Play for a draw and start moving up that table.

This^^^. Decent manager would have done better with the resources available. 6

areNOTwhatTHEYseem
I know it doesn't fit with the prevailing mood, but it might be worth bearing in mind that Shrewsbury have only lost three games at home so far this season, and haven't been beaten at New Meadow since September.

I was at Hillsborough in 1963 when we knocked them out of the FAC. Even then, it took us extra time to win 2-1. https://www.11v11.com/teams/sheffield-wednesday/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Shrewsbury Town/

Prior to the Sunderland game we had shown very real signs of improvement and looked to be a team on the up. I really think people are blowing everything out of proportion due to the Sunderland game. A result which came after significant covid disruption where we were unable to train for an extended period. Fully expect a reaction and 3 points today. I was sort of nodding in agreement until I read the last sentence. Wednesday don't do comebacks remember.
