Tony Pulis
With another Premier League game postponed today, it' feels more and more likely by day that our games will start to be called off and a general rule of behind closed doors introduced (at least for the winter). What are people's thoughts on this? Obviously I would be devastated to miss matches and the whole hassle of refunds have to occur again.
Barnsleyowl1996
Be terrible wouldn’t it . Preston millwall off too already this weekend . If it’s just the odd game though like it is currently then surely ok to continue .

Pughies Jockstrap
It ends with us all having Herd Immunity in about 3 months and life returns to as near normal as possible (politicians permitting). 2 2

The crux of it is, nobody knows enough for everyone to go about their normal lives, atm.
Tommy Crawshaw
Having fans in the stadiums won't be the issue, it will be whether the teams be able to fulfil the fixtures. The problem's going to be Omicron running rife through the unvaccinated players. 5

Popular Post Manwë
The game has been called off because the staff have got Covid, not the spectators, so I don't see how having it behind closed doors changes that. The best reason for no spectators is to stop the spread. Passes haven't worked anywhere, they've been introduced because the Govt are out of useful ideas. The only thing that worked was lockdown. Really care about the NHS and society? Stay home. 6 1
Birley Owl 1867
Would all depend on government. I don't think the FA, Premier League or EFL will be deciding to ban fans on their own accord. If the government stop large gatherings then they will have no choice. However, it will be a while away as they will want to see how the introduction of covid passes does first. It isn't anywhere near the levels of the last stoppage so I can't see the leagues being called off yet.
@owlstalk
Good luck to anyone who just handed over hundreds of pounds to renew a season ticket that they can’t use till next summer, by renewing it just four months into the current one - good luck on your refund applications Some are still waiting from 2019 for theirs 2 1 1 Owlstalk Shop
prowl
This wave of omicron might get very bad because of the number of infections. There will be a massive spike if the current projections are true,. I can see a lot of things being affected because people aren't allowed to work while infectious. if we already have a shortage of HGV drivers and deliveries are erratic, imagine what will happen if 15 - 20% are off sick. Football will be affected like everything else. It shouldn't last long though, it will probably wash through the whole of the population in a couple of months.
