Thankfully however, MOST people on this forum have common sense. Bar a few. Indeed. This thread tells you more about the state of society in general today. I.e. The inability of a few to follow basic laws and rules and the crazy logic that some people use to defend those actions. 7
Devonstrix
19 hours ago, Kopparberg said: The EFL won’t want fans of every club doing this whenever a goal is scored. If a group of opposition fans did it at Hillsborough you’d get home fans getting riled up and wanting to go and drag them off (like when Palace relegated us). Saying that, the statement is probably enough…. Basically “you had a good day, you had too much beer, keep of the pitch next time, we mean it”. I was at the Plymouth v Wigan match a few weeks ago. Wigan scored a last minute winner. Some of their fans jumped on the pitch and a flair was set off. This ‘provoked’ an assault on the away end by a number of Argyle idiots, some of whom climbed over segregation netting and punches were swapped. Stewards were overwhelmed as the popular word goes these days. Argyle issued an initial 25 suspensions pending further enquiries. Not sure if Wigan have dealt with their lot, particularly the one with the flair whose photo is all over the internet (what a jerk). So, jumping on the pitch might be a spontaneous joyous reaction, but it can have consequences when other fools react to it. We know exactly what would happen if for any reason away fans were housed in the Lower Lepp and some of them jumped on the pitch. If nothing else, this sort of thing can lead to more over-zealous stewards and Police, which nobody wants and is just not on. Anybody doing it can’t moan if they get banned. Simple as. Numerous visiting supporters invaded the field of play at Gresty Road whilst celebrating goals. This behaviour is fundamentally against the law and contrary to ground regulations at every stadium in the country. These actions are also unsafe, and more so in the current climate. Whilst the club would never seek to curb regular goal celebrations, we absolutely condemn at all times any supporter leaving the stand and entering the pitch area. In addition, such actions can significantly impact future ticket allocations for away fixtures. We are currently liaising with officials from Crewe in a bid to identify those responsible and underline that anyone proven of any offence relating to the above will be subject to strict sanctions in line with EFL and FA regulations including bans from all football stadia. Thank you for your co-operation. Hear, hear - no excuses They'll be putting high fences in next, herd us in like animals,

HIGHERSTATE
People going on about the Wycombe game. Many of the fans were getting over excited then and after their efforts the players couldn't even manage a lap of honour due to stupidity of a couple of thousand that couldn't get their heads around it. And the achievement was a little more impressive than going two up versus Crewe in December. There was quite a bit of fuss and quite a few threads on here same as this one. Selective memories. So many tiresome excuses. But....But....But..they do it...

SiJ
The Wycombe game is completely different to scoring a second goal against Crewe at the Cornflake stadium or whatever they call it these days.
tom
Ban them for three months from away games. Once the ban has finished and if they do it again, make the ban for much longer. If people cannot follow the rules, then why should they be allowed to go to away games?
owlinexile
Sometimes daft people get overexcited and do daft things. If no one got hurt, it's not a big deal. Remove them, give them a telling-off and move on.
