Professional win. Never in doubt after the penalty save.

BPF 8 people don’t realize how good that double ok save was. It’s so hard to ‘stand up’ for a penalty

Hunt 7 playing well at the moment

Brennan 7. Very impressed with him on the whole

Palmer 8 has been excellent in the centre

Johnson 7 has done a fine job in their. Positioning is poor at times but gives us an extra dimension with the ball

Corbeanu 6 I love him but thought he was a little quiet. Ran into a few blind alleys

Bannan 9 outstanding performance and what a goal. The penalty against him was harsh I think

Dele-Bashiru 6 played deeper and did ok but he’s annoying me at the moment. Not doing the things he’s good out. I’d leave him out for Windass next game

Wing 6.5 better but still a bit quiet. Needs to take the game by the scruff of the neck

Paterson 6.5 worked hard but wasn’t particularly effective. Great header that hit the post

Gregory 8 he’s a proper centre forward and the first one we’ve had since Fletcher left. If he stays fit, he’ll get 20 this season

Windass 7 lively. I love how he strikes a ball. One off the line

Shodipo 6 ok

Berahino 2 for the love of god stop playing him. How he got on in front of Kamberi is beyond me

Moore 7 tactics spot on. Lost a point for bringing on the useless Berahino

Same again against Accrington please

BPF 8.5 - brilliant save from the geriatric pig, commanded his box and distributed the ball well

Brennan 8.5 - very composed, Crewe were shít but he played with the composure of someone who’s played 10x as many games… sign him up!

Palmer 8 - didn’t put a foot wrong, doing really well in the middle of the 3 centre halves

Johnson 8 - drove forward well and defended well, I thought Moore was mental playing him at centre half but credit to both of them for making it work

Hunt 8 - another good game, the cross for Gregory’s goal was pinpoint

FDB 6.5 - didn’t impose himself on the game much and ran in to trouble on a couple of occasions, steady enough but not his best game… young lad though so this run of games will be good for him in the long run

Bannan 9 - MOTM, an absolute masterclass… pretty much everything he did came off today, and what a goal

Wing 6.5 - got stuck in and tried to make things happen but he’s struggling, hopefully the player who played for Rotherham last season and battered us shows up soon

Corbeanu 6.5 - big fan but he didn’t give us much today, a couple of good runs and crosses but decision making let him down at times

Paterson 6.5 - unlucky not to score with that header but otherwise wasn’t great, not sure centre forward is his best position but fortunately he has 10 others

Gregory 7.5 - extra half point for the goal, could’ve had a hat trick today if he had an extra half a yard of pace

Windass 7 - we weren’t exactly full throttle by the time he came on and I thought he was playing a bit cautiously as well, but looked sharp and unlucky not to score

Shodipo 6.5 - did alright, I like his turn of pace but he didn’t have loads of time to do much today

Berahino 3.5 - the gamble isn’t paying off, did nothing positive and decision making for that 2v1 was horrific

Bailey Peacock-Farrell- 8 bit generous as he didnt have much to do but that stop was class

Liam Palmer -7 decent game, cleared one off the line to preserve a clean sheet

Ciaran Brennan -7 good passer won a few headers and tackles closed down well

Marvin Johnson-6 still doesnt look at home in the backline, but doing a job

Jack Hunt -8 in a rich vein just now and looking strong allround even won a header

Theo Corbeanu -6 very quiet of late and little influence again today

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru-7 didnt get on the ball enough today, nice assist though a  couple of driving runs

Lewis Wing -8 won tackles involved allover the park, found space and passed well

Barry Bannan -9 ran the game, very big performance and a goal to boot, decent goal it was too, well aided by FDB

Callum Paterson -7 popped up allover the park, thought he had a decent game, looked strong and energetic, unlucky to hit the post

Lee Gregory -8 worked hard, deserved his goal, could have a couple, looked a real handfull at times, on it today

Comfortable win without having to turn the gas up too much,

another shout out for the makeshift back 3.

BPF.   8.5     Not a lot to do, but did everything well and a superb double stop with the penalty.

Brennan.   7.    Another solid performance, at the moment he has made this position his.

Palmer.   7.5.   Strong up against the tall Porter, cleared one off the line.

Johnson.   6.5.  Not convinced about him defensively, but sticks to his task.

Hunt.    7.  Seems to find a lot of space in midfield and is usually an option. Like him in this role.

Fizz.   6.5.   Quiet game but good link up play with Bannan for the first goal. Maybe coincidence but the midfield lost its shape when he went off.

Wing.    6.     Worked his socks off which was good to see but not a lot came off for him.

Bannan.   8.5.  MoM.  Very good energetic display, with some good passing. Great goal.

Corbeanu.  6.5.   A quiet game by his standards but still a threat.

Gregory.  7.5.   Led the line well and topped it off with a good goal.

Patterson.   5.5 Worked hard up top but not much came off, moved into midfield and showed his versatility. A lot of energy for a big bloke and useful player to have.

A bit of a stroll really. Would have liked us to go for more goals but maybe it's best we save ourselves for more difficult days.

Bpf 7 Fantastic penalty save and rebound, did everything else well too

Hunt 7 terrific assist for Gregory's goal, busy and competent all afternoon

Brennan 6 didn't stand out as much as previously - not much to do really

Palmer 7 another competent performance

Johnson 6 downgraded because of one sloppy pass but did well and looked good going forward

Theo 6 one good shot one good cross but quiet by his standards. Disappeared in the second half (presumably tired)

DB 6 unusually quiet game for him, barely noticed him

Wing 7 got his foot in plenty of times early on but then went quiet. Worked hard but needs to look forward more. When will he get a shot right?

Bannan 8 magnificent in a game where he was given loads of time and space. What a goal.

Gregory 7 his ability to control balls launched at his throat reminds me of Deon Burton. Worked hard, always progressive and scored a great goal

Pato 6 not a great day for him but he worked hard and was unlucky when he hit the post

Windass - 6 - made some great runs and looked lively. Unlucky with the blocked shot. Welcome back

Shodipo - 6 - defended well and also put in a great cross. Looking better

Berahino - 4 why bother

Peacock-Farrell - 8 - Another dominant display between the sticks. His double penalty save on the stroke of half time could be seen as a catalyst for the result we got (I actually think we'd have still won comfortably had they scored it, given our superiority over them). It was a stunning reaction save though, and he does produce these moments of genuine quality.

Brennan - 7 - Another encouraging display. Defensively, we weren't really put under any real trouble, but he looks very comfortable performing the ball-playing role.

Palmer - 7 - Another good display. Becoming Mr. Dependable.

Johnson - 7 - Like Brennan (and Palmer), not really tested defensively, but looking for comfortable in that role, to the point, where we're seeing him as a centre half.

Hunt - 8 - He's in a fine run of form, and the wing back role really suits him. He'll get up and down all day along, and he's got quality in advanced areas. Great delivery for Gregory's 2nd goal.

Corbeanu - 6 - Failed to hit the heights that we've seen from him so far this season, but kept plugging away and ensured he did the basics, despite the fact he'd have been a tad frustrated about his performance.

Dele-Bashiru - 7 - Hard to imagine him not in the side at the minute. Has really took his chance, and his raw talent is slowly been rounded into producing some consistent displays.

Wing - 6 - Worked hard, covered the ground, a some moments of quality, but thought he went missing for large periods. Need more from him.

Bannan - 9 - Man of the Match - Masterclass. Great individual goal, ran the game. Crewe could not nullify him at all. Showed his class throughout. Unlucky with the penalty decision, how the referee can give that I'll never know.

Paterson - 7 - Cannot fault his attitude, work rate or versatility. He unsettles opponents and is a handful, and probably deserved a goal. That said, for me, Kamberi is a far better option alongside Gregory.

Gregory - 8 - Like Bannan, just demonstrated the fact he's too good for this level. From the 1st minute, it was clear Crewe's young defence were going to struggle to contain him, and that's what transpired. Took his goal well, was unlucky not to score just before his goal, and could've had another. Great centre forward performance. If he stays fit, he gets 20 goals.

Windass - 7 - Lively cameo. Could've got a goal, but for a goal-line clearance.

Berahino - N/A - Involved in a fair bit when he came on. Dallied too long on the ball when through on goal in a 2 on 1 scenario late on however.

Shodipo - N/A - Did a decent job of shoring things up for the last 10 minutes

Overall....

As comfortable an away performance as you'll get. Never felt as though we were in any trouble from Crewe, and the only way they were going to get something from the game, were if we took our foot off the pedal (aka Wimbledon away).

Our superior quality told...as it should do. Crewe are in a totally different World to us in terms of budget, recruitment and quality of player. Too often we bemoan our inability to make those imbalances count. Not yesterday. I thought our marquee players (Bannan, Hunt, BPF, Gregory in particular) stood up to the expectation and put in a high quality performance.

Obviously, we'd have liked to have won by more, but what is pleasing, is a second successive clean sheet given our defensive unavailabilities. We've slowly started to find our feet in the last couple of months. Starting with some performances which showed glimpses of our capabilities, littered with the sluggishness we were accustomed to. But, gradually, our performances are becoming more consistent, showing more of our qualities, and less of our misgivings.

We've got ourselves into a decent position, in fine form, going under the radar, with two really winnable home games to come. We've got a great opportunity now to get ourselves right within that chasing pack. If we can finish the year in the top six, given our slow start, horrendous injury record and a prolonged period of tactical uncertainty, then there's genuine reasons to be optimistic for the 2nd half of the season.

Bpf 9. guess who's back ..Bailey's back..pen save and rebound save, but also switched on and all round game v good.

the palm. 8.5

the absence of big dunkan..was the leader at the back..not a shouter but lead brilliantly . we missed him  and those that don't get why he's so important hopefully do now.

Brennan 8 well done young man ,looks solid and dependable.made for an overlapping wide Cb role .

Johnson 8 back to his best position ,the old roaming wide centre back ..using pace and driving forward, whilst getting clean sheet.

hunt rwb ..8 he's loving wing back, suits his style. been in fine form for half a dozen games now ..on fire.

corbeanu 7 never stopped trying but the end product wasn't there . great run and  shot. needs to stop giving away silly freekicks , always a threat

bannan 9.5.

outstanding goal like bargain Messi, sublime passing and a class apart . inspirational .

Dele bash ..7 .assist .yet another solid display ,has come on so much that he's a trusted member of that midfield . works hard ,keeps it pretty simple..compliments bannan. important cog.

wing 6.5 bless him ,working hard . did the old hoof to no one,and pass back to keeper..which illicits the familiar sighs. keep grinding it out Lewis a good goal would transform him (maybe)..

Paterson 7  hard working as expected. important fighter for this team .

Gregory 8.5 .the Greg heads will be pleased with the goal .

on for 20 this season ..hopefully silenced any reverse Greg heads ..

windass 7. looked lively ..glad we are giving him rests

shodipo. 7 improved the defending at wing back when came on.

berihino 6. another sad display of it not happening .

I've lost faith now and would rather not bother

Moore 9. well done manager . love the style and the fruits taste sweet

Bpf 9 didn't face many shots but perfect display, anticipation, positioning, commanding, assured and possibly gained us 2 pts with double pen save like vs roth

Nit-picking, but what about that missed punch?? He was flawless in every other regard, i concur.
