I think that happens a lot in modern football… there’s so much money at these clubs that players get bought/sold for more than they are worth. Everton seem to have that new money curse like Wednesday did - players rock up for the £X a week and know they don’t have to care all that much. Everton gifted them two goals just dicking around with the ball. Loads of chants against the board last night. It may be that is what gives Benitez a bit of extra time.
