Octogan - Best Venue in Sheffield?

Recommended Posts

Went to see Paul Weller at The Octogan last night - absolutely fantastic gig and Weller and his band on fine form.

I have seen many bands at Octogan but this was first visit for many years.  I honestly think this is the best venue we have with the acoustics being excellent.    Compare this with the sound at the O2.

Why do bands not go to The Octogan?  Is it the booking power of the Academy group?

With.

1st time I saw them was in the place underneath the Octagon. Lower Refectory I think it was called.

Just as Earth vs was being released.

Unbelievable band.

They are .....

Them and the Crowes know how to work a crowd....

On an aside Ginger and Terrorvisions mates "Eureka Machines & Tropical Contact as support" are playing Brudenell on 11 th Dec (Christmas Bash)

Covid permitted  fingers crossed I'll wear a deep sea divers suit to see these lads.

If you can make it i'll be the one in lead shoes and a brass helmet ......

Yeah that one was epic. They played Nirvana's 'Pennyroyal Tea' and the place went nuts!

Saw em on the Gold Against the Soul tour also.

i remember coming home and my forehead was battered from the crowd surfers.  My ma said ' i thought you went to a concert to have fun and not get beat up'...lol

Saw em many many times.  Remember Pennyroyal Tea from Lamacq session i think
