Think the FA know he is very unlikely to cause any controversy and always say the right things at the right times on the right subjects. Last England manager before Southgate was Sam Allardyce and doubt they will want the trouble of his short time as England manager again. He got as close to taking a risk as he ever will when he played Foden, Grealish, Sterling and Kane against Hungary last month. We drew 1-1. Back to safety first from now on as tonight’s line-up shows.
