Popular Post Holmowl
Massive hats-off to Chey. Not been a fan but these past few games the fella has been an absolute rock. It’s like he’s had a transfusion of super-power blood - first to every ball, wins every header….immense. Its really odd. He’s now our only CB. He’s got a FB and a LW alongside him, and it actually looks ok, which is huge credit to Chey. He’s also quite clearly captain without the armband. He’s always talking, encouraging and the first to heap congratulations on others. And, as if that isn’t enough, what the flip has happened to his distribution? He looks a different player on the ball. Cool, confident, happy to pass or drive forward. Top man. I’ve never doubted his wholehearted defending, though even that is even more whole-hearted, but he’s become an all round top player recently. So impressed.
S63 Owl
Yep, definitely holding my hands up to say I was wrong about him, proved me wrong.
Mike Hunt
Could have cost us a couple of goals today but yes he has improved. Just a season too late I mean who the feck would sign a player with pins still in a broken leg Horific signing, one of the main factors that cost us our championship status 2
Shetland Owl
100% solid , we have needed someone like this for a while, good captain material We do need another CH as cover at least for Lofra, especially if out for the season and Gibson going back
Owly Mowly
He’s comfortable in that centre role
Bleeder
Playing really well. Despite initial misgivings thought the back line has worked really well the last couple of games. Good to see Palmer and Johnson being given the freedom to carry the ball forwards when we're in possession.

The coach
Just use him to d3fend..let him defend..stop asking him pass for passings sake and he will be fine
Teddy Nickelarse
Was a good player for Wigan. Now a good player for us.
McRightSide
Said it weeks ago he’ll be fine at this level He’s also not playing off his left side which makes a massive difference to him
onlyonedavidhirst
If Dunkley is now our only fit CB, who does he play against Harrogate in that position?

Emerson Thome
3 minutes ago, McRightSide said: He’s also not playing off his left side which makes a massive difference to him Exactly this. In the centre he has options - Palmer and Johnson either side and whoever in the midfield is coming to receive the ball. When he's receiving the ball on his left foot at LCB the opposition know to close him down.
Costello 77
I knew we'd be alright today in the first minute. When BPF waved everybody upfield and wellied it. That's what a player like Dunkley likes and is used to. Brilliant defender at this level. 2

Even when Iorfa is fit I'd keep Dunkley on the right where he's comfortable. The 3 at the back today have looked our best combination so far this season IMO.

If Dunkley gets injured playing then we are stuffed. Added to the rumours on here that Hutch and Iorfa won't play again this season we need to get through to January with Dunkley playing every minute in the league.

SallyCinnamon
Thought it was a good signing at the time. Super for Wigan. Nasty injury probably cost him 2 years. Now looks like he is returning to the levels he’s capable of. Shrewd signing. 2

Bluesteel.
Confidence is a fragile thing and perhaps some enforced match practice has helped. But I agree he has really stepped up and acted as a leader in recent games. We need someone to do the simple, physical dirty work and he’s the man to do it. It helps having a bit of pace around him so he can do his thing without being worried about over committing himself.
