Dunkley - what an improvement

Recommended Posts

Could have cost us a couple of goals today but yes he has improved.

Just a season too late

I mean who the feck would sign a player with pins still in a broken leg

Horific signing, one of the main factors that cost us our championship status

Exactly this. In the centre he has options - Palmer and Johnson either side and whoever in the midfield is coming to receive the ball. When he's receiving the ball on his left foot at LCB the opposition know to close him down.

Said it weeks ago he’ll be fine at this level

Massive difference and Dunkley is the only CB on the books who's decent on the air. Even when Iorfa is fit I'd keep Dunkley on the right where he's comfortable. The 3 at the back today have looked our best combination so far this season IMO.

Ahh yes signing a player who missed a couple of months through injury was a main factor in our relegation - right up there with the points deduction and wages not being paid.

Confidence is a fragile thing and perhaps some enforced match practice has helped. But I agree he has really stepped up and acted as a leader in recent games. We need someone to do the simple, physical dirty work and he’s the man to do it. It helps having a bit of pace around him so he can do his thing without being worried about over committing himself.
