Todays lineup - OWLS -V PLYMOUTH OMDT

Recommended Posts

Not much happened, two teams playing similar systems cancelling each other out at the moment.

Think we have a few more gears to go through, definitely up the tempo, close down quicker and play 15 yards further up the pitch.

We are matching a decent team, but if we want to win it, need to work harder.

Boring!

Berahino and Paterson have offered nothing.

Sitting on North see a totally different game, Kamerbi is winning every ball played up to him but nobody in support to help him.

Midfilders dont get far enough forward quickly ebough to support the front players and the wing backs especially Corbeanu start off far too deep.

Problem is that Kamberi doesn’t get it under control enough to bring people in

Its a major issue in his game

Think we can be pleased with this so far. Pressing Plymouth high up the pitch forcing them to panic and kit it out of play at times.

Wing needs to be looking to get the ball forwards and Corbeanu needs to do the basics right before trying to beat three men in front of him.

Johnson looks assured in his role and the back 3 have been decent.

Not seen too much from Berahino so I'd take him off, give somebody else a shot.

All in all, good half that.

No excuse for it though regardless of where he's picked to play, it's basics... don't mess about with it near you own box

He is a winger/wide forward.

Pick a player like that in a defensive role and he will make mistakes. Like picking Forestieri at wing-back but because it worked against a woefully out of form Sunderland side we stick with it.

Pick him in an attacking role and you will get the things he did against Sunderland going forward without defensive errors.

Two very even sides cancelling each other out. Dull, but I've seen a lot of positive things from us.

Unfortunately forward fluidity is not one of them... Wing, Paterson and Berahino not been with it.

I agree with that - stay with the line up for the first 15 mins then make the changes.

Plymouth look organsied and clearly are a threat from set pieces, but they're special. I thought Sunderland looked more dangerous.

They all need to work harder closing down the opposites. One makes a half arsed jog over and the others just stand and watch. You’ve got to chase the ball down in 2s and 3s for it to work, otherwise the ball will just get passed through the gaps

They should be made to watch Man City yesterday.

Best team performance by a mile.

As they analysed on MOD there was 4 or 5 closing down in packs. Total energy for 90 + minutes.

Kamberi doesn't get it under control?

He looks like Zidane in that respect compared to Berahino.
