This is a terrible shame.

Bannan has made this attacking football work tonight... covered every position.

The most disciplined performance I've seen from him in a long time and it really suits the team.

He's been superb.

Yeah disciplined is the right word. Bannan’s at his best when he makes the area around the centre circle his own rather than trying to charge around doing everything. Very pleasing tonight, can only hope he isn’t out for long - won’t really be needed for 10 days or so now which helps.

What did he say?

Was asked if he is still in touch with him, and how he's getting on with his injury recovery.

Was an odd response, he said "I don't want to divulge any secrets" - struck me as a bit strange, almost like there's more going on.

Or maybe I'm paranoid. :duntmatter:

Why haven’t we played like this more often? Is it simply because Sunderland are a big club?

It does feel like we almost subconsciously try and match the level we expect the opponents to be at. It’s too much of a coincidence when our three best performances of the season have been against Sunderland, Wigan and Rotherham, probably in that order.
