A defender all his playing career, but....

Just looking at this stage again, it looks like the 5 defenders in the still are playing offside - they have set up a almost perfect line across the edge of the box. Unfortunately, no ones told the two defenders behind them in the box.

The other thing is that Iorfa has just run back into that position from somewhere upfield…why on Earth wouldn’t he have angled his run into the centre of the box to cover the gaps? It’s like the ball is magnetic or summat! Hunt, Iorfa, Dunkley, Bannan and the midfielder running back are all within a 10 metre radius of the ball, combined positional sense of a three toed sloth on Valium.

We can't hit it long.

We don't have a big target man to hold it up, or a fast player to run behind.

V Wimbledon, their CBs were sat on the half way line and every ball hoofed out was back in our area within 20 seconds. I think we won 2-3 challenged balls all game.

We have to play it out to an extent, because we have no option.

In this division the binman and Gregory should easily be able to hold the ball up if we play direct.

He can't though. He lost every challenged ball in the middle.

We have no pace either, so they're still in our half when they do.

Because we have no shape when on the back foot.

It’s all reactive defending.

I mean look at this before they equalise. Iorfa & Dunkley have been dragged out to the right side of the box when they should be defending the centre. This leaves Palmer isolated.

Bannan, who should be the one closing down the crosser has decided to join the back line.

When we lose the ball we should be working as hard as possible to make a flat back 5 and a solid 3 in front of the defence. There is no shape, no organisation.

We can talk all day about scoring more goals but at 2-0 we should be able to see a game out.

So you have to ask? What are they teaching them in training week in week out!!

I think it was because he was nearer to our right than the centre, and they didn't have the ball under good control and he thought he could help nick it from them.  And we had players in the centre marked, though admittedly no spare man there.  I think it was a close decision, whether to go after the ball or to guard the centre, though I probably he did make the wrong decision.

We aren’t good enough to dictate games and we’ve got some quite old players so generally run out of steam in the last 20.

They brought 3 subs on Saturday to freshen it up, we only used 1. McCormick came off the bench for them and changed the game.

Lads like Bannan and Gregory aren’t going to be charging round and pressing every ball at their age in the last 20 minutes of games.

The average age of our starting line up this season has been over 28 in most games which is pretty old for a pro football team. And on Saturday we took off the youth and legs we had in the team with Dele Bashiru which was a bizarre sub
