They’re also in League one” “How are they in League one if Wimbledon are?” “I don’t follow, Sir” “Well if Wimbledon are Wimbledon. And MK Dons are MK Dons, shouldn’t they be starting from the bottom up?” “Wimbledon have started from the bottom up, Sir” “No, I mean MK Dons. Wimbledon already started from the bottom up. Under Bertie Bassett .4th division to Premier” “Yes, but they became MK Dons, Sir” “Then who the hell are Wimbledon?!” “They’re Wimbledon, Sir. Risen from the Ashes.” “But MK Dons..” “Bought out the left overs of the original Wimbledon and, if you like, franchised themselves as MK Dons.” “So officially, they’re Wimbledon” “No sir. They were officially Wimbledon. They’re now officially MK Dons. Formally Wimbledon” “And Wimbledon?” “They’re Wimbledon, Sir” “I see.” “I'm glad” “So, Wimbledon are Wimbledon, and MK Dons are MK Dons but used to be Wimbledon. that is to say they were but are no longer Wimbledon. And Wimbledon who used to be Wimbledon, except when MK Dons were Wimbledon are now Wimbledon. Doesn't that mean Wimbledon should have got the old Wimbledon's spot though. If they are actually Wimbledon?" “No Sir. MK bought the rights to the old Wimbledon's place in the league” “Look, who the hell has Dave Beasants Cup final gloves in their museum?” “Wimbledon, Sir” “Right then. They’re Wimbledon then as far as am I’m concerned.” “They’ve been Wimbledon all along ,Sir” “Well why didn’t you just say that then?” “I did sir in my original reply.” “Righto. So, they still ground sharing with Palace?” "No Sir. They're at Plough Lane" "Bloody hell eh, back at Plough Lane eh. Hang on, I thought they pulled Plough Lane down?" "They did Sir. There was plans to go back, but that was smoke and mirrors, they planned to move to Milton Keynes all along." "Who did?" "MK Dons who used to be Wimbledon. They were never going to really go back to Plough lane , the plan was to get them out all along. " " But they were already out. They were at Selhurst Park" "No, Sir. Out of London" "But they're back there now eh? The Dons." "The Wimble- Dons, yes sir. Not the MK Dons" "Eh? Now look here, are Wimbledon back at Plough sodding lane or not!?" "Well, yes and no." "Yes and no. What are you on about man!" "Well, they're not at the old place. Its down the road. About 200 yards down the road as it happens. Further down Plough Lane." "But Still on Plough Lane?" "Yes, Sir" "Ah well. Near enough. Still called Plough lane that's the main thing" "No Sir. It's called the Cherry Red Records Stadium" "Eh?!" "Would you like the team news ,Sir?" "No. I'd like a lie down" ---------------------------------------------------------------- Wimbledon vs Sheffield Wednesday Sky Bet League One. Saturday 16th October 2021 The Cherry Red Records Stadium. ------------------- WIMBLEDON -------------------- Possible Team -: ------------------- WEDNESDAY -------------------- Possible Team -: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, that's exactly how I feel too, Corky. Brilliant Snoots I’m sure you write these while high on LSD. hope the games start to compare with the Match day thread. I was always told to get the performance right and the results will follow, unfortunately the performances are patchy at best and we are scrambling the results. Hoping as always for a win. CourteenerOwl
There is always a natural excitement whenever Wednesday play but have to admit struggling to look forward to our games this season. Wish Moore would just go for it today. If he did we have far too much for them to handle. Get someone up there supporting Gregory and offering a foil. Even consider going Carlos season one and playing Bannan on the left rather than in the center, where he will get more space. He won't play this but an attacking manager would give this is a go. Wildsmith Hunt Palmer (Anyone but the cheerleader) Iorfa Brown Corbeanu or Shodipo Wing Adrenian Bannan Gregory Patterson
Hootsman
Thanks Snoots, great omdt. I'm feeling good today, Spidey sense is tingling and I'm going for a spectacular 0-4 win. OwlsPilgrim
Excellent intro Snoots a great summary of the recent history surrounding the Wombles. I posted the team and lineup I’d personally want to see in another thread but given DMs tactical form so far this season anything could happen. Going for a 2-0 win for Wednesday, UTO! Devonstrix
Fantastic preview as always m’lud. I see that the name of Wimbledon’s ‘stadium’ almost made you choke on your Horlicks, or whatever it is that you imbibe whilst concocting your marvellous repartee with Stubbs. I for one can’t wait then for the Cheltenham MDT in two weeks time. I reckon you’ll spit your brandy int fire
steelcityowlsfan
Still haven’t forgiven Wimbledon for knocking us out of the FA cup in 97. I haven’t forgiven myself for forgetting my glasses too. Could only make out Carbone cos of his green boots and Des Walker for obvious reasons.
