Popular Post Tommy Crawshaw
It's well known we struggle to get anything out of a game once we concede the first goal. But it's getting ridiculous now. In the last 24 matches when we have conceded first going back to the 19/20 season, we have failed to get a single point. W0 D0 L24 Since coming from behind to beat Brentford at home in December 2019, our record when conceding the first goal is, W0 D2 L32. That's 2 points from 102! Is it a physocological thing? Whatever the reason for the inability to fight back it needs to change or we are going nowhere. 9
Sefton owl
Pre covid which seems crazy. Probably be another pandemic before we turn the tide on this awful stat.
SiJ
We turn a slight setback into a full blown crisis. You just knew after Morecambe that we would lose confidence and go on a horror run.
CalmJimmers
Unreal stat, properly embarrassing. For me it highlights that we still haven't sorted out the need for players with leadership skills.
S36 OWL
Shameful stats. We are so weak and soft.

matthefish2002
All boils down to the players basically not being good enough.
flo
I think it's the fans fault. Only common denominator Edited October 4, 2021 by flo
Blatter
Moore said they’ve got tired minds according to Joe Crann. Once when I was suffering from that my boss gave me a good kick up the aris Cured it rather quickly.
SallyCinnamon
Can’t we employ a psychological expert to sort this out. That’s a mental stat
Daavies;
you can see it in the players the second things go against us. Their heads drop and we lose our entire shape and system. Its getting to a point where we need psychological help because you can't go for this long without something being fundamentally wrong.
Tewkesbury
I was hoping that the extra players and competition would sort this somewhat by giving them something to prove right up to the last minute. Unfortunately there seem to be undroppable players in the squad which doesn't help.

Whatever the reason for the inability to fight back it needs to change or we are going nowhere. And that is part of every managers teamtalk playing against us 'Score first against this lot and they bottle it. And even if they score - stay in the game because they will bottle it at the end.' Its basic psychology needed to change it - we need to embrace going a goal down if it happens - and look forward to the chance to change the statistics, use it as a motivator. That must have been tried but our players seem unable to respond, its easier to go full chimp mode and run around and panic.
Manwë
Could potentially be Brexit related looking at those dates. Late 2019 a new government and no chance of us staying in the EU from that point. A protest perhaps? Get Brexit Done basically meant Get Wednesday Shafted.
GoldGigsChris
We need a captain that can raise spirits and work rate when we concede - not put his head down.

Mick70
Add the uncanny knack to concede in the last few minutes of games no wonder we haven’t had much success last few yrs!!
