When is Luongo back?

Thing is, the ones who fit there, Hutch, Luongo and Byers are out. Adeniran is in there but he is a bit sus too when under pressure. Bannan would be good but he won't stay back so that leaves Wing. The formation relies on someone sitting deep, it's exactly the same formation as the England team with Rice and Phillips holding in front of the back 4.

We need to realise we are a third division team. In this league the teams that get promoted need to score at least 70 goals a season and have a defence that concedes less than a goal a game.

We won't win game playing like, Man City, Liverpool or England, as we have a free agent journeyman up front not Kane or Salah.

We have 4 defenders that should be able to defend, the midfield 4 should create and score goals and the strikers should be hitting the back of the net, in this league at the very least 1 in 3 games.

Moore formation does not work with the players he has, if it is relying on injured players to make it work, he need to play of style and formation that get the best out of the players he has not playing players in roles they cannot do.

Miss him massively. Huge impact in that Rotherham game.

Midfield has been like a Swiss cheese without him. Theres no one else capable of doing the job that he does for us.

I know, Hutchinson did a good job at Wigan but he's needed at centre back if we insist I playing from the back.

100% agree Snoots

BUT

It's a bit of bugger when we struggle with one man out.

Think we are being unrealistic that hes going to come back fit and stay fit.  But I agree with the OP that it would be a massive boost if we had him fit. Hes the only one who can do that CDM job properly and also give us that physical edge in there.  We also need Hutch at the back partnering Iorfa for a number of reasons.

I don't think he's actually that good a player, hasn't shown anything to date that makes me think he was a good signing.

That said, the job he does do, is what we are really missing and it's key to getting the ball from defence to attack, which is what we are really struggling with at the moment.

But like others have said, his injury record tells us all we need to know about the future for Luongo.

Looks like he's trying to get Wing in there. Played the last 3 games there, not the best but he's improving.

Not on the evidence of the last match, his worst game yet and that's saying something.

Why do you assume that 4-4-2 is the formula for getting out of this league when not a single team we've played this season has used that formation?

He had Hutch with him v Wigan, he did it somewhat v Ipswich too.

May not have looked his best but he put himself about and tbh the entire midfield was bad that game.
