Onge
I've sat with the wrong fans a few times - absolutely hated it. Never again. Watching a Wednesday goal and not being able to react... Or not being about to eff and Jeff at the ref... What's the point in going! Good tip though for those with a calmer temperament than me, though! 1

Once and never again.

As for the jumping up when we score, for some reason the urge to do it is completely taken out of me automatically when I enter the home stand. I know my boundaries And I think it is becoming more generally accepted for football fans to sit amongst each other these days. There seems to be less hostility amongst rival fans (obviously taking out the derbies) Yes agree, wouldn't want to sit at the Lane, even if I had one of my Piggy mates sat next to me. Ante's Bubbly
Went on the home end at BH Lane to avoid the pig p!$$ they throw at the away end. I jumped up when Hirsty scored that equaliser from Waddle's pass and managed to put my raised hands on my head in mock frustration. Been on Arsenal's home end loads of times at Highbury and several times at Millmoor when I was a lad, but nearly always manage to get tickets in recent years. Nightmare!! Not for me, I just couldn’t get into it
Tewkesbury
If you can find a couple of mates who support the home team it's much better. They can make sure you sit away from the ******** stand, then it can be a great experience. Some of the best match days have been like this, can be a bit intimidating at first, but as long as your nat a ******** about it, the home fans are usually pretty good, especially if they're winning. Yes always on Tivoli end in the 70s but that's when we would be there in the hundreds just like the Lane in the County Cup games.
bradowl
Years ago went in home end at Man Utd 91-92, paid on gate at Stretford end, no trouble whatsoever with loads of Wednesday fans around us. Sheff Utd same season on standing bit they had in corner of Shoreham end, loads of Wednesday fans on and we weren't afraid to be vocal. A few years later sat in upper tier in East stand at Elland Road when we won 2-1 with a late Booth goal. Leeds fan I knew got me ticket so I was only Wednesday fan about and kept quiet. Been in home end at Forest a couple of times, once when they had open terrace behind goal and in Semedo tribute day sat in lower tier of main stand. Many many years ago going on home end was a normal thing to do. Rotherham, Chester, Mansfield, Chesterfield and others.
Plonk
Ah back in the day. Blackburn away in the 79 / 80 season, last away game. The famous ticker Taylor/ spider mellor night. Well we couldn’t get tickets in the away end so my brother drove to Blackburn and bought a dozen tickets in their stand. It was all OK until the winner went in. We went mental, they went mental, fists and boots flying everywhere. At the end of the game we went mental, they went home. what a night that was. But we were all young and daft then. Harrysgame
Same here registered on a few other clubs sites, just in case tickets are an issue. Biggest pain is all the spam mail about other clubs.

Did the same for Derby, Villa, Burton and Brentford and never had any issues sat with the home fans. Yes it was hard not cheering for Wednesday but at least I got to see the game. I would chat with their fans and say I am a groundhopper, take a few photos of the ground, ask about their team and watch the game as a neutral fan. AFC Wimbledon tickets are on sale now and it's easy to register and get tickets. The likes of Cheltenham and Accrington where the away ticket allocation is small and your points aren't enough to get a ticket in the Wednesday end, why not register on their sites too. At Morecambe saw some Wednesday fans who had bought a ticket in their stand which included food, so they could get to see the game. Wimbledon are also doing a similiar deal if anyone's interested, £62. Remember in the 70s watching Wednesday at Plough Lane, we played in a white away kit, see you at Wimbledon. EBRA Did we win 4-3? Early 70s there used to be a group of Wednesday fans used to go on that corner of the shoreham street, just to bait the United fans. Sure some of our older posters will remember them. I was only a kid and used to go to the lane to cheer the opposition as I couldn’t afford away games. Used to think they were bonkers, but the United fans wouldn’t go near them.

When we played Scunny at the Old Show ground went on their kop with loads of others. Before the kick off, me and a mate came out of the toilet block at the top of the kop to see the Wednesday fans on the pitch and getting escorted to the Wednesday end. We both legged it to the front and just got over the wall before taking a beating from the Scunny fans. Walked along the pitch to the Wednesday end and got another smack from a copper who had seen me throw a brick at the Scunny fans who eye balled us on our own. Remember getting a good reception from the Wednesday fans, made my day, not bad when your only 7.lol
