We outworked them, out fought them and we’re in their faces from first minute. Hardly a classic but some good bits in there. Moved the ball quickly, created a few chances, missed a 1on1 from penalty spot.,… great performance considering away to table toppers.

League is distorted with so many sides having played twice as many away than home and vise versa.

Think tonight is definitely the set up we should be going with away from home not so sure against sides at home who sit in

100%. That was a great away team, full of strength, aggression and energy. At home, we have the players to attack teams in waves, where we will need a different line up.

Impressive despite a dullish first half we never really let Wigan into the game. Our goal was fortunate but deserved after a run of poor luck.

I spoke last nigh about bravery and trying to go past players and sniff openings. Well Gregory and Patterson did that  in oodles. First Gregory with a Hirstesque Volley against the bar. Patterson putting one just wide of the far post, Gregory again chasing down and robbing the fullback and setting up Patterson perfectly for his half volley.

Can't grumble too much on the softish pen given/denied issue. BPF was in line for the Bums on Seats award had he made the save but I gave it to Gregory just from Patterson with Iorfa MOTM.

Assistance Needed !!!!!!!!!!!

Cant be bothered to be interested enough to be rsd to read the thread

Were SWFC  - dire sh!te doomed & in need of ( further)  managerial change < 19:45 ?

Are SWFC now outstanding nail on certs for promotion with a Champions League place beckoning 3 years hence given the tactical genius & guru at the helm > 21:30

Is Patto a maligned & misunderstood GOAT or a feckless Caledonian hod carrier ?

🤔

Jos was DC’s outball. Was prepared to take flak that came with releasing all the high paid crocks and playing kids, which was our only hope of avoiding FFP meltdown.
we bottled it and bought in Bruce who put the final nails in our coffin with new contracts for KW, signing more crocks like Odebajo and Luongo .

Was it Bruce who bought Luongo? Bruce also brought  in  Iorfa (to play right  back) , Borner for centre back and K Harris all of whom must have been on big salaries. Certainly brought an end to Jos putting his faith in young players for the future of the club. Unfortunately, too many were blooded around the same time and not all were good enough.  Since Bruce started , up to press, the only homegrown young player who might have broken through was Shaw.

So we do a(quick) long punt upfield in a Div 3 match, and 'surprise surprise' we force an unforced error from a defender, which leads to a goal....(rather than passing the ball umpteen times trying to get to the same spot, giving them time to compose themselves...

lets see what Sat match brings..

The defences in this league are generally slow. All of the high scoring teams have a fast CF and bang it forward at every opportunity.

Look at how much we've struggled with it, with them getting behind us, and we have Iorfa's pace.

Now onto the home game at Oxford.

We've got to string together 4, 5 positive results on the spin and build some momentum.

We all know how quickly it can turn at this level. A good run can you see shooting up the table.

Oxford have made a good start and i think they've been top 6 in the last few seasons. Is Karl Racoon Robinson still in charge? If so, we all know they'll be half decent on the ball. Perhaps another game to use the physicality we have in this squad? Try and bully them a bit?

Such a simple thing to do,& look what happens when you play Patterson...He scores... need to stop this passing across our own back line nonsense, play 2 up front & overlap & overpower the opposition.....

They will roll over.....

OR we can sit back & let people high press with the ball in our final third, rather than making them work to get it there...

WAKE UP DM...

Full marks to Moore for leaving Bannan out....but still looked dodgy in the middle...though we did improve 2nd half.

PF had a decent game and really pleased for him.

We got lucky imho with the crazy own goal.

Wigan bottled it. Otherwise without the own goal it could have been very different. We were absolutely garbage and negative up to that point.

By bottled it, i mean wigan were shyte really and are in a false position and it showed after the og.

Sweating time last 10 mins and really it shouldn't have been...especially to a very poor team.

Still not convinced with Moore but obviously a great result last night nonetheless....and hopefully we will now kick on and he realises we can beat most sides in the league, even if it takes a bit of luck. Many are not good enough to come back. That's the nature of the league.

Onwards and upwards and uto...i will be the first to say I got it wrong if he can now follow it up with a decent run...play offs are the minimum I would accept...harsh? Maybe,

..Oxford and Bolton coming up, 2 teams just above us. 6pts to us and i will get the itch back....lets see.
