Popular Post Matt Willey
I'm sorry, I know this has been done to death, but sweet baby Jesus and the Orphans! That online retail experience is quite frankly laughable. Having wanted to purchase a few items last night, probably a good 100 quids worth. I am faced with a total car crash of an interface. It is like something from 1990. And the credit card transaction final page looks like every spoofers dream. Would it honestly be too much work for someone from the club to pick up the phone to a recognised online football club retail interface. There are literally hundreds of clubs who do a better job than us, just copy one of them. Five minutes and I had the details of Fanatics who run Chelsea's online retail. Decent interface, good product merchandising, good UX, good flow of products through the transaction journey. Come on Wednesday, at a time when we need to be maximising revenue our online offer is pathetic. I'll give you a hand if needs be, but this needs to get better and fast it is a joke.
Tracksuit
Yep. I know. Sheffield FC is even better then Wednesdays.
0742
Fanatics are a huge company though, worth billions. They also run the merchandise for many of the american NBA & NFL teams, as well as many of the world's biggest known sporting teams. We're a lowly 3rd tier club, to expect the same customer experience as Chelsea is stretching it a bit! That said, yes it's poor and probably wouldn't cost that much to put right, like most things at the club, it just needs someone who cares enough to get hold of it.
Buddy Repperton
The club shop represents the WHOLE CLUB as we currently stand. "it just needs someone who cares enough to get hold of it." Not happening anytime soon. 3

You could recreate something similar to the Fanatics flow in almost any of the decent sports retail platform - Hell, I could do it in WooCommerce, it is not rocket science, especially with an inventory as small as ours. I don't think in today's e-commerce landscape it is asking too much at all. Ours is so bad it is actually hurting the business and losing potential revenue.
Popular Post TheEnchanter
For decades people in charge have used sticking plasters for all our solutions in all areas of the club on and off the pitch.
Kew Owl
Maybe it’s on Liam Dooley’s “to do” list - I don’t think he’s been here as C O O very long yet ?

mcmigo
It certainly is a fitting platform for a football team which is sitting on the verge of the bottom third of the English football leagues.
Orlando_Trustful
It’s dreadful and has been for years. I reckon you could get an IT BTEC student from Hillsborough College to make a better one.
WalthamOwl
It really is a shambles both on line and in the shop.
Mosborough-owl
It’s a joke. It even looks cheap. Even trying to find the correct product is hard work. In today’s world, where online is massive, we are propa lacking behind.
FlyingOwl
Yeah it’s bad. Even worse is the product range. Still can’t buy training gear online (unsure about in store). This ball always makes me laugh though. 1
sheffield_dave
This was genuinely one of the first things I hoped would be sorted when Chansiri arrived, and it's beyond irritating that not only has it been ignored, but we've since slipped back to the pre-Chansiri acceptance/expectation that nobody can be bothered to sort it. It's been said, but Fanatics are an enormous international organisation who also cover all the major American leagues. However you can look at a more relevant example like The Terrace. The club already have some sort of working relationship with The Terrace, but they put the club to shame in both stock availability and user experience. It's 2021. 2-3 of the right Owlstalk members could probably have a more functional online setup than Wednesday this afternoon.

You’re in luck. It’s reduced at £8 - was £14. Get in there quick.
