Lewis Wing

If you played for Sheffield Wednesday and you read on a forum that a fan said you looked lazy, unfit, you couldn’t pass and when you run you look like you’ve s##t yourself. Would you feel a bit self conscious or would you still run after the ball like a whippet all the while fans laughing “there goes Wing who’s sharted in his shorts!”

it could really knock a bloke

There’s no requirement for it to always be BB then.

No one else wants it. No one else wanted it last season either. When will people get this

there’s nothing stopping the other players creating something when they’re on the ball, is there? Otherwise why don’t they?

Because he's in the way gesticulating and demanding the ball.

It's known that he's enjoying the trust of the owner and it shows in his tantrums on the pitch.

If they can't handle it they shouldn't be looking at a football forum. We pay a lot to watch this and part of the whole thing is to discuss the games + players, if they look lazy and unfit it's fair game. Maybe mocking their gait is a bit far though.

Wing is suffering because when he was at Rotherham he was the key man. He was on all the set pieces and had more of a free rein. Here he doesn’t get a look in the Bannan in the side and we haven’t found another way of making it work. I know it was against an under 21 side but he ran that game against Newcastle when Bannan didn’t play. I’m not advocating that but clearly that dynamic isn’t working, and as Wing is the loan player, I can’t blame DM going with BB.

We’ve just had a transfer window where we’ve signed 10+ players and yet there’s nobody capable of recieving a ball from the centre backs and passing it on.

Why then is everyone spaffing themselves off over our amazing transfer window when we apparently have a midfield that can’t play basic football?

unfortunately, a thrilling 20 minutes doesn’t cut it in this league.

it’s a league where just good football isn’t enough.

we’ll have to grind out ugly 1-0 wins and match teams physically.

the worry is are the players up for that ?

This is key for me.

In every league game bar Plymouth we’ve had a roughly 20 minute spell where we’ve looked miles better than the opposition. Whether we get results has basically depended on making the most of those spells and whether we concede outside of them.

Yesterday was possibly the chance to properly dominate a game, but instead we missed the penalty and basically invited them into the game.

We've got to start putting all the individual quality in the squad together and getting complete performances because otherwise we’re going to stutter our way through the season.

he's obviously a very technically gifted footballer, he was rotherham's best player last season in the league above. Like an above poster said, our midfield is like a jigsaw. Denis, Bannan, Byers, Wing, all very very good players at this level it's just working out who's the better holder, who's the better 10 etc etc, and unfortunately it's taking too long to work it all out. Can't imagine any of the 4 or 5 centre mids now Hutchinson is in the equation again knows if they'll be playing one game to the next
