How do you know Hughton wouldn't have been a great appointment for us?

His sacking at Forest doesn't mean he couldn't have done a decent job had he been made SWFC manager.

Not sure you read my post right mate. I thought he would have been a good appointment for us. Certainly the best option available at the time, and definitely better than monk.

Cooper it is.

Is Wilder turning down these jobs, or is he not even being considered?

2 promotions in 3 years with a 9th placed finish in the Premier League. A reputation for getting the most out of players on relatively limited resources (in the football league) and playing attractive football..

Whatever happened at United, he must have really sh*t his pot.

He should have jumped ship when they were high flying in the PL. His stock was quite high then.

Surely he also knew about the boardroom changes/troubles at this time too.

Funny how a manager can go from hero to zero so quickly.

We can only speculate, but perhaps the stories of him wanting out months before he did go and demanding a payoff didn't help him?

Also seems like he wants to wield absolute control, which just isn't in keeping with how most modern professional clubs want to run these days.

Yep.

I imagine chairman speak and stories of how he acted won't have gone down well.

If he wants full control of everything from transfers to contracts etc he will need to join a League 1 and below club.

Can't think of many above that level that operate n that way these days.

Can't think of many anyway.

It wouldn't surprise me if we have a bad spell over Christmas and we end up with Chris Houghton as manager after all.

His stock has fallen after being at Forest even if a lot of the problems were outside his control.

Think you're being optimistic that our bad spell comes as far down the line as Christmas.

Being a full weight pillock can’t be aiding his cause though
