Plonk
Is that in addition to the three suspended they already have? So would failing to pay wages result in a further six point deduction?
latemodelchild
5 separate charges hanging over em including breaching ffp which was what we were guilty of. We got a 6 point deduction for that which ultimately relegated us. The initial 12 point deduction crippled us in many ways. Derby have done well to only get a 9 point deduction I'd say. No consistency there at all.
latemodelchild
Just read that they are accepting a punishment rather than going to inquiry etc in future. If only we'd done that we'd have stayed up. Shame our owner didn't have the sense that derby's seems to have. Or the contacts.

In the end we got it reduced to -6pts. Can’t help but think that starting on -12pts had a huge negative effect on the club, managers and players. Took us age to catch up, and every time we did we didn’t pull ahead. Derby are fortunate to have score 7pts already reducing the deficit dramatically without the same pressure.
striker
Don't have an opinion on the proposed deduction as such, but negotiating a punishment doesn't sit easy. Either a club has broken the rules and therefore subject to the punishment set out for that misconduct, or they haven't. If they haven't broken any rules, there shouldn't be a punishment, certainly not as punitive as deducting points. This reads like the EFL negotiating on behalf of other clubs to weaken an opponent. Let's not forget that those who actually did (flagrantly) break the rules and achieved promotion faced no similar punishment. Where were the 12 point deductions when those clubs were relegated back to EFL jurisdiction? 5 1

Where were the 12 point deductions when those clubs were relegated back to EFL jurisdiction? That’s a good point. Weren’t QPR fined £50m but just refused to pay it. Did anything happen to them? And Bournemouth massively broke FFP. Didn’t Stoke lose something like£93 m last year? it all seems incredibly brittle.
yeadonowl
Max points deduction for the FFP breach is 12 points They have accepted 9 rather than taking a chance on appeal Other charges relate to HMRC mis payments which don’t carry a points deduction unless HMRC force admin and only then would an additional 12 points be deducted Whilst all this has been going on Derby have also been severely restricted in signing players. This may also continue in January as well my guess is that once the point deduction is agreed the 3 years accounts will be published and we will see they have breached FFP by miles Reading are the most annoying ones. 120m losses over the past 3 years and no charge as of yet
Popular Post TrickyTrev
This’ll be 3 seasons on the spin a side has been relegated due to a points deduction. Call me old fashioned but I preferred it when football was decided on the pitch. 10 1
SwellOwl
It is ridiculous that this has dragged over into the season to make a decision. Also, the element of club and EFL discussing and agreeing a punishment. Has any other club had this option?

Hirstyslaces
EFL Egocentric Fastidious Losers. They just seemingly make the rules up as they go along. One rule for one, one rule for another and so on. Absolute joke of a kangaroo court, that doesn't help most clubs at all.......
