Ryan Lowe, Wednesday legend

Recommended Posts

The owners going nowhere, hel say were in touch with the play offs, were on track to get promotion and the managers doing a grand job.

Be under NO illusions this is his mess.

Look at the position Plymouth are in and the leadership they get from their owner, hes set in place a blueprint for success on every level, if Lowe went the next guy would just carry it on, even one of us could manage PA and do well because the infastructures already there, hes even managed to upgrade the facilities along the way and all on a budget a fraction of what Chansiri spends.

Just for balance, Plymouth were one of the worst teams in the whole of the EFL at the end of last season winning 3 drawing 3 and losing 13 of the last 19. Obviously he's turned it around amazingly since but Plymouth could easily have sacked him before.

It has been a remarkable turn around, mainly by shoring up his defence and adding Broom into midfield giving them some energy and creativity there. He was never at risk of being fired though. He had only just brought them up and a struggle was expected, although some of the fans were moaning about him.

We would have no doubt, but Plymouth have a different approach on things

And over last summer their recruitment mob sifted through the stats, released all the under performers, mostly defenders and then recruited players with far better stats, that came within their budget, to replace them.

Meanwhile, we offered better terms to bannan and hutch and couldnt sign anyone due to not getting our accounts right and we didnt pay our players, once we could sign players we were left to fumble around in the bargain bin for the players other clubs had given a wide berth!

You speak an awful lot of sense here.

Lowe is a fantastic figure head but doesn't get involved in transfers until the end.  There's a team lead by Neil Dewsnip (who ran the England 20s in his last job) and a data company we work with who identify the type of players we need to maximise our bottom half of league budget.

We signed a centre half that Walsall didn't want, a centre half that Ipswich didn't want, a centre half from some team in Australia (???) and hardly let any goals in......it's a funny old game.

Light years away from our recruitment policy.

Then maybe it’s time we restructured our back room staff. To my limited knowledge, Brentford and Southampton both have teams that line up replacements for what they have. Right the way through from next full back to next head coach. Yet we still haven’t replaced Pudil, or Atkinson.

Time for a serious rethink, so we don’t spend four months after Moore goes wondering what to do next.

We should already be sounding out Lowe and his recruitment team.

If we don’t someone else will

We should have restructured right after the play off loss to udders or maybe even when Carlos left, those were the signs things werent working, play offs are a lottery, you need to going for the top two minimum and we never even looked close to that, since then weve just ruptured money allover the shop.

20/21 players of a quality as good as you can afford with loan players for back up should be plenty, we just paid fortunes out for players to kick their heels and watch matches from the stands, the squad was way too big.

Its not Lowes recruitment team its plymouths, all work done by their owner.

Wednesdayite all my life, love them to bits, but I wish we had 'Sheffield' people in charge, from top to bottom, i.e people who care
