trev
Probably one of our top earners and barely plays. If someone is willing to take him and it saves us money we need to let him go. We can't afford not to. He's not worth the money he gets every week. Edited September 4, 2021 by trev
Billy Hunt
Considering he has to manage his previous injury, a 26 game A-League season will definitely be easier than 46 game League One season.

It's only two weeks since Luongo showed what he's capable of in this league with a man of the match performance against Rotherham.

Ash77
Keep and manage better, only play in centre of a 3, odd drop to bench when close together games, sub off after 60-75 if possible
Musn't Grumble
He wouldn't survive the 24 hour flight without a session or two on the treatment table.

Before he came here he was a regular for a lower mid table QPR side who were worse than Wednesday at the time. They were happy to let him go, and he didn’t improve on what we had.. wouldn’t say he was better than Hutchinson or Kieran Lee. He’s a steady mid table Championship level midfielder when fit, but he’s not the kind of player that gets you play offs or higher at that level. We have Bannan, Adeniran, Byers, Wing, Dele-Bashiru and Paterson for 3 positions in midfield. Paterson isn’t a centre forward and that should be his role in a team that plays a 3 man midfield. Can’t see him getting much of a look in with Gregory, Kamberi, Berahino and Windass all able to play up top. Our first choice midfield 3 wouldn’t include Luongo. He must be on about 15 grand a week which will be far more than the others apart from Bannan, and on top he’s fit for about 10 games a season. So it really is a no brainer to let him go. Andrew_Owl
He's a great player but he's just injured too often, if it is a decent offer I'd accept to get him off the books.

They wanted him to stay but he wouldn’t sign a new contract that’s why he was available.

I didn’t know that but that sounds money related as he switched one mid table Championship team for another one that was showing signs of decline. Which then leaves the question if he was that good why weren’t QPR offering him more money to withstand interest from Sheffield Wednesday. The story is that he’s a mid table Championship midfielder when fit, nothing more nothing less. And he’s rarely fit and financial luxury for us when we have other players more than capable in his position

And he’s rarely fit and financial luxury for us when we have other players more than capable in his position Luongo joined QPR the season after they were relegated, so they had parachute payments and I'm pretty sure around the time they were spending stupid money. Fast forward a few years and QPR wanted to lower their wage bill, this meant they offered Luongo a reduced deal, they still wanted him though. Luongo said no to the deal, so QPR decided to sell and take some cash. It's something that as a club we should have done with so many players.
ZicoSterland2
The not so new Abdi. If someone will take him get a million pound a season off the wage bill. Just hasn't worked out for him here.
morganowl
why would anyone want to go to australia? 95% would probably get out if they were allowed , your only allowed out within 1 mile of home for a food shop and exercise and cant go to work either unless your on the critical list of workers been in the harshest lockdowns in the world and it makes north korea look like heaven compared to aus , i know people over there its horrific and been like this for over 18 months in melbourne and all the big cities this past 2-3 months . sheffield will seem like heaven compared to been sent there.
