Keep reading about these three dui offences, but having done a quick google search can only find reference to the London incident in 2019. He was given a 30 month ban for that. If this was in fact0 his third offence he would have been sent to prison  surely?(someone I know got three months for two charges 0almost ten years apart).

Can anyone shed light on the other two arrests?

Yes it would shed a different light if the number of convictions has been inflated spuriously.

I honestly don’t know if it has or hasn’t, but it seems a very very lenient punishment for a third offence. Some times these stories take on a life of their own, and it would be sad if he is getting lambasted for something incorrect. Even the one confirmed is bad enough, but there seems to be some mitigation if you believe his side of the story.

Yes agreed it would be sad - and libellous  -  if there has been some malicious online shenanigans at play.

This is the Wiki summary of his alleged convictions. Make of it what you will.
it would seem his driving ban has recently ended

Legal history

In 2012, Berahino was convicted of being drunk in charge of a vehicle.[87]

On 22 October 2014, Berahino was arrested on the M6 near Lymm, Cheshire, on suspicion of drink driving.[124] He was charged with the offence in January 2015,[125] and admitted to it before North Cheshire Magistrates in Runcorn, who gave him a 12-month driving ban and a fine of £3,400.[126]

Berahino was arrested in the early hours of 18 February 2019 in central London and charged with drink driving.[127][128] On 15 May he was found guilty of drinking and driving at Highbury Magistrates' Court and fined £75,000 and banned from driving for 30 months.[87] The court heard that Berahino had been robbed of his jewellery before his arrest, but held it was not a necessity for him to be driving as his partner was at the wheel beforehand.[87]

This isn't a guy in the likes of Ravel Morrison or Niles Ranger who have been given chance after chance and flushed it. He literally had a bad time at Stoke and then disappeared to Belgium. Darren Moore obviously believes that he can get the best from him and if he can get anywhere near how he was at qest brom then We have a real player on our hands. He deserves a clean slate and to prove doubters wrong apart from that......he's  Wednesday now BACK HIM!!!! WAWAW

Asked a friend in Belgium who follows the league there about him - said he looked good when he first arrived then went right off the boil. Would explain why he got sent on loan to Charleroi last season. Wonder if he’ll follow a similar pattern with us.

If he does then he does, we only really need him to help us get out of this league

Staton just tweeted that Berahino turned down at least 1 championship offer on higher wages

He’s also taken a wage cut to come to Wednesday. All because of Moore

I’m not sure in this signing and could easily go 1 of 2 ways

As others have said we have to trust the manager on this and hope the player sees this as a golden opportunity to play for a manager who he trusts

Thanks for pointing out we’re in League 1 and not the premier league. I hadn’t realised. I suggest that with Gregory, Kamberi & Patterson, plus Shodipo, Corbeneau and Windass we didn’t need to sign anyone else. Let alone a perennial under performer who has 3 convictions for drink driving, a ban for being a drug cheat & fathered three children by three different women in six weeks.

none of those players have ever returned a decent goal tally in their careers. The best Lee Gregory got in this division was 18 goals and that was 2015/2016. Hardly prolific.

They’re all probably capable of 10-15 goals max, maybe more for Windass

Again not saying right or wrong but anyone can post on wiki. Doesn’t mean it’s correct. Can only find reference to the 2019 conviction on line. And as per my previous post 30 months ban for a third offence just doesn’t make sense. Would almost certainly have been prison

So many players we’ve signed this summer have reportedly chosen us over moves to championship clubs which is a big positive.  In the past we’ve signed players that you get the impression no one else was in for, and then surprise - they’ve flopped with us.

I notice Paul Merson made a similar comment about Arsenal yesterday, that they’ve been signing players no one else really wants and that’s how you end up bottom of the league.

Well done Darren Moore for transforming our reputation in the transfer market

Lets hope DM knows what he's doing; no reason at the moment to think otherwise and he's earned our support and trust with the way he's conducted himself since becoming our manager. Berahino just needs to work hard, keep out of trouble and always try his best. As long as he does those things he should have our support. Any f*** ups and he's out the door.

Please listen to his Rio podcast interview.

He goes into proper detail. The blokes had a tough time, his dad died, he had to leave Africa at a young age, was playing at West Brom without speaking any English. Got held at gun point and robbed in London.

He deserves his chance like anyone else. People are quick to comment on his ‘drink driving’ charges but they are not perfect themselves.

He’s took a massive wage deduction and also rejected a championship club on a higher wage to come to SWFC as he wanted to play under Darren Moore.

There is a player in there. You don’t score 14 goals in the premier league with no ability. He had a rough time at Stoke and it’s followed him round for his whole career.

Give him his chance, and trust the Darren Moore process.

He’s magic you know, Sadio Berahino.
