Wing Back
One of the best. Possibly the best, in Germany at least. Sad day.
SiJ
Goal scoring record is absurd for both club and country. Very much in the Messi/Ronaldo bracket for how prolific he was.

scram
i hated him for scoring against England in 1970 and putting us out in the quarter final - strange to think we wouldn't kick another ball in the WC Finals for another 12 years But i always pretended to be him when i played - i loved him Outrageous goal scoring record One of the genuine all time greats RIP Gerd
SimonJ
RIP Gerd Muller - he was the last player that I needed to complete my panini Euro 76 sticker album - only later on ( I was 8 at the time) did I find out what an immense player he was. darra
Very little is known about his early life. My German uncle told me many years ago that the story is he was "discovered" around the age of 13. Can't remember who the team was. He was poorly educated and barely literate. Thankfully the club took good care of him and the rest as they say is history. He was a boyhood hero of mine along with the likes of Beckenbauer, Seeler, Overhrath, Breitner. Arguably one of the greatest national sides. 1

Groundhopping Owl
Had the most ridiculous knack of getting the ball into the net from any angle by any means possible. An absolute all time great whose record speaks for itself. RIP
