Even more great news from SWFC - boxes almost sold out

No the cost of the box each season is what does the electric cost and what does it cost to run it, so staff costs, food and drink and thats about it.

If the club has no boxes used and pays £2,000 a month in electric but when it is using all the boxes it pays £2,500 a month then the cost of the boxes per month is £500.

They should be able to make probably at least 50% profit selling the boxes at £22,500 each year and this is based on the quality of the food and drink being what you expect in a top restaurant. Not sure the pie and peas approach will work for a corporate entity. Its a good idea if you are down at the dog track though. lol

That's one way of looking at it...but.

If you borrowed money to build/develop the boxes then that has to be paid back so you've got to add that in.

Any business asset is written down in value over a set period or over it's lifetime. If you don't add a bit on (quite a bit) you get to the end of the life of the asset when it becomes useless and you've got no money to replace it.

Nothing is ever simple.lol

Its also an incredible demonstration of the support our club can count on from the local business community - when it feels that its support is appreciated and not taken for granted.

Absolutely spot on Grandad.

It seems that somewhere in the deepest recesses of our once great club, things are changing; and changing for the better. It's a paradigm shift I honestly didn't think would happen. Why it is happening, and from where the change is emanating, remains to be seen.

This is quite an incredible achievement considering how it’s been in recent years with a standoff between the chairman and the former box holders

Someone at the club has done a top job here and must have been giving assurances that the prices will be more realistic and the chairman won’t be in the picture

It will have took some real work to get these sold

Well done SWFC and the team responsible this is brilliant

Im one of the most vocal people against DC, but this is great news Neil

Also, great to see the people who were badly treated by the club returning to the boxes

Absolutely. And shame on all those who were sycophantically siding with the chairman and slagging off the “10 Bob millionaires”. Funny how now we’re back in the pub league and money is tight that opinions have changed and we are begging them to come back.

Yep - even tried it again in this thread.

All gone a bit quiet now though

I 5hink eating at football is a bit strange tbh..I spent the full day in London on satday and didn’t feel the need to be eating 🥴

Same with people at the cinema feeling the need to drink a litre of coke and eat their body weight in popcorn in the space of a couple of hours.

Really liking the positive moves made by the new COO - credit has to go to the chairman for finding the right candidate and giving him the space to operate.

So far, as a club, we've bounced back as well as possible - lets hope it continues.

What isn't factored in by many to the pricing and profit or not on the boxes, is the increased connection to the community and local business via corporate guests and the goodwill it generates now and in the future.

That is the tack that should've been employed from the start; as should an affordable ticket pricing policy, but we are where we are, hopefully starting on a new course so supporting it is important.

I'd like to see interaction with schools and clubs again, trying to get those kids engaged with the club it's incredibly important for the future.

It's increasingly clear that Chansiri is off somewhere licking his wounds and is allowing people who aren't morons to actually run the club for once.

I don't think anyone really ever bought that the costs of heating and lighting a small room for a few hours and providing a five course dinner for a dozen people and a pie are in excess of £20,000, did they?

I find it very odd that they’re saying email for prices. Every other club you see that does hospitality tells you how much the package is and you can pay for it there and then.

Does this mean some bargaining will take place? As in they might say £75 per person for the Dooley restaurant but if I said £140 for 2 they might say deal?

Would be interested if someone who has worked in hospitality has views on this approach, I don’t get it, or do you tend to make money getting people to email in for a price?

I used to take guests to Dooley’s quite often.

Then they tried to pull my pants down for the play off against Udders.

I have never been back.

Usually a pricing strategy like this means if you have to ask you can’t afford it.
