sexpistol
I was a young un at that game. I was sat in the south stand. I don’t remember this, but apparently Ian Mellor missed an absolute sitter ( he told me this himself)

latemodelchild
My first game. Sat in the west upper. Dad wouldn't let us on the pitch even if we could have made it. I was 7. I was fairly confused by it all to be honest. But what a first game.
vulva
My first ever game. Was in the South Stand. Bobbared myself as the fans rushed from the pitch up to the Directors box where the players came out after the match.

BRADDO
I was there. South Stand with my brother, mum and Nan. Always remember travelling to the game on the football special bus. Absolute carnival on there.
bradowl
I was on Lepps that day, great atmos, game was poor but it didn't matter because the win at Blackburn just about clinched it. Good job Chessie lost at Millwall though while we we lost 1-0 at Exerer weekend before or we might have fluffed promotion.

stoff
I was in the north stand that day, 7 years old. Seem to remember the game was poor and it was ridiculously windy. There was a printer’s strike or something and the programme was about 8 pages and all in grey and white, which is bizarrely how I also remember the actual game. I remember being on the pitch at full time as well and a rozzer helping me and my brother over the wall to get to it. Jeez, 41 years ago…
Buddy Repperton
I remember going on the pitch with my mom! There might be some pics somewhere. Great day!!
eguin
Some officials afterwards wondered what happened to the promotion winning ball? The match ball from that game was picked up by someone I knew from Halifax as the ref dropped it running to the tunnel as everyone ran on. A few years later he left it on the side of the pitch as he played in a local league sunday football match in Halifax and someone pinched it
lanzaroteowl
One of only two games I've taken my wife to. The other being a midweek break to Blackpool in winter. She won't set foot in the place again
