0wl18
Leeds deserve so much credit for the way they’ve approached this season. Bare bones all season and they’re still maintaining an entertaining style of play. Surely they’ve got enough missing to warrant calling games off yet, they’re playing with a depleted squad.
beswetherick
Rafa gone. Newcastle’s new owners wanted him back there when they took over but Everton weren’t interested in getting rid - Howe might be thinking he’s in line for a nice payout for a few weeks work now though! Everton are in a lot of trouble, theyve recruited really poorly for a number of years now, expensive players that just arent very good or dont play due to long term injuries and theyve spaffed a fortune, they sacked the clown that recruited them all, but its late in the day and the damage is done. mildatheart67
From the Guardian He received personal abuse and threats before signing the contract in June 2021, and Merseyside police investigated a banner that warned “We know where you live” but was left outside the wrong house near the Spaniard’s family home in Wirral.

They could be well and truly in the brown stuff if this winless run carries on for another 4 or 5 games. The amount of money they’ve spent to be where they are is mind boggling. Speaking of teams on poor runs, it wouldn’t surprise me if Benitez is back at Newcastle before Easter… and then still takes them down
Kopparberg
Rafa was a terrible appointment. It’s damaged Everton…. and you have to pay him off !!

The player was standing well offside, pretty much on the goal line, and the ball touched him on the way in, so the offside had to be given. The fact that it'd have gone in if it hadn't touched him is irrelevant.

FreshOwl
Benitez was a bonkers appointment destined for failure from the start. He’s definitely a manager whose stock has gradually fallen over the last 5 years. Players from many clubs he’s managed have had a problem with him at some point, he’s like Mourinho without the charm

Kopparberg
The more I read about Rafa the worse it gets. It was never going to work - I think Rafa can occasionally be charming, but not often… from his career moves he actually seems quite arrogant. Guest
Everton have a decent first 11 and no depth. Calvert Lewin, Richarlison, Mina, Pickford, Godfrey, Dacoure, Allen are all decent players. They’ve got a lot more than the bottom 4 that is anyway. 10th last season and that’s about right if they don’t have injuries. It shows how hard it is to break in to the top sides as they’ve spent a lot just to tread water really

Reason they’re struggling.
mildatheart67
Swiss Ramble on Twitter is doing a bit on Everton. Wages take up 90 percent of turnover. He reckons they are in deep trouble with FFP .
