Ellis Rimmer
Just now, fudge27 said: But as pointed out, Chelsea are more cut throat and knew lampards limitations, and unlike arsenal and man Utd the board aren't content with competing for the top 4, they went and got a top manager and invested in the team again Yes but 1) Lampard didn’t do a good job for them relative to the conditions he was under as we saw a massive improvement once he left with the same players 2) they most likely wished they had appointed somebody else that they didn’t need to sack. Just because fans weren’t frothing at the mouth wanting him gone doesn’t mean he was a good choice, which seems to be the only argument that he did well for them. fudge27
Chelsea got exactly what they wanted from him 1 - kept the fans on side at a transition point 2 - brought through the younger players which will keep the academy thriving and attracting the best young players as they see a pathway 3 - finished in top 4 Soon as they were in a position to go again they got shut. It would be akin to if Man Utd sacked OGS 18-24 months ago (which they should have)

scram
It's why i said that a good season for Norwich would be to get to the play off final, take part in an epic and lose on pens They don't even try - which is wise for a first time promoted team - but this is ridiculous
SiJ
It is all rather embarrassing. At some point, this whole yoyo approach will catch up with them. Got to think that Farke is on borrowed time, even though I think he would be a bit of a fall guy.
scram
To get rid of farke would be pretty abysmal on their part tbh He's proven reliable at getting them promoted - so they either back him to have at least a fighting chance in the PL - or keep him to give them their best chance of continuing this charade
SiJ
That's what it is now: a charade. Go up and then get relegated.
owls maniac
It’s so bizarre because I’ve listened to a few podcasts with Stuart Webber, the sporting director at NCFC and he talks passionately about moving the club forward and how much relegation last time was a huge personal failure to him…..and yet here we are seeing them once again getting stuffed every week. I don’t doubt they have a fine academy, infrastructure and finances, but Brighton have those too and look where they are.
scram
TBH i don't know what they expect if they don't change their strategy I'm not saying they should just blow 100's of millions - but maybe loosen the purse a little bit to allow them to compete with Burnley and Watford! Indeed. They’re a great role model for a club but when you see the likes of Burnley, Watford, Brighton and even Brentford competing it kind of makes a mockery of the strategy. There’s no guarantee they will come back every time, no matter how much parachute payments loads the dice.

Ellis Rimmer
Norwich are a joke, you don’t follow a club hoping for it to become a well run business making plenty of money for the owners. It’s not very sporting.
SiJ
You wouldn't know that West Ham V Spurs is on today. Entire build up about Man U v Liverpool. I know that is the main event, but you have to laugh at how blatant it all is.
