Wow,
Did you not read what Darren Moore said. “ Nobody comes into the club without my say so.

Hirst hasn’t scored a league goal in this country, And Borukov wasn’t good enough for our under 23’s.
We’ve had a good summer of signings and persuaded good players to drop to league 1, just give credit where credits due.

He's not interested in that matey, it's quite obvious.

What is it with Chansiri and signing elderly footballers.

This chap is 33 in 2 weeks. His scoring record in the last 2 seasons is shocking. His goals have dried up as he's past it.

Young eager players like Borukov and George Hirst never got a chance.

There's a young eager player in the reserves called Davidson who looks a cracking player. He's 18 and that's old enough to play for the first team.

Any other team would give him a chance but we prefer to play over the hill 33 year old.

This signing has all the hallmarks of Chansiri on it. DM would never sign a player this old as his track record shows that he always prefers young players.

What a mess. There's no coherent long term strategy at the club whatsoever.

But that's how Chansiri runs the club.

Hi mate, both Borukov and George Hirst are none league standard footballers. They’re awful. If Hirsts second name was Smith he would be playing for Chesterfield.

Last season

George Hirst scored 0 in 31 for Rotherham.
Lee Gregory scored 3 in 11 for Derby.

Hope this clears things up

I only went upstairs to watch the news and when I came back down we had signed Johnson and Gregory. That’s an entire new team now isn’t it ?

Is going upstairs to watch the news a Scilly euphemism for taking a dump?

I would’ve been a little underwhelmed if we had signed him as a championship club but as a League 1 club, it feels like a stellar signing but he’ll have to find a way of scoring more goals from open play as we don’t get penalties.

So you'd have been happy going into the season with a young 18 year old as our main striker? OF course you would :duntmatter:

Get in, a proper experienced number 9 who should excel at this level, surrounded by an attacking; ball winning, energetic and creative set of players to supply the service he needs. He could thrive at this level and was useful in the second tier and as done well at this level before. Even though, I'd have been happy with Cosgrove, this potentially looks a smart signing.

The Hirst obsession is so weird. Four years ago the big clubs would have been all over Hirst's metrics. They could have picked him up for a pittance by their standards, something of a fortune for them. They obviously didn't much like what the data was telling them.

Leicester have won the Premier League, FA Cup and played in a Champions League Quarter Final all in the last six years so while not a traditional big club must be close to a big club.

yes, that's  completely fair, although at the point they signed him they were slightly moving off the pace. So it's reasonable to think there were some possibilities there, but it's definitely notable that eg Chelsea, who sign promising young players on an industrial scale, didn't move in.

Anyway, no idea if now at this stage in his career he can hack it in Division 3. Maybe he can. That's different from him being read, four years ago, to come into a top six championship squad.

Mcmigo positive like always.

Doubt he'll be on hefty wages so seems a good low risk signing on a free. Good experience of League one and Champ, which we needed to help the young wingers we have now. For a free we were never likely to do much better (ok apart from Piggott, still not sure why we never went in for him on a free).
