Aren’t Charlton renaming one of their stands the Alan Curbishley stand?  Normally that kind of thing makes me think we will lose at Charlton.  However,  I think we will get a positive result.

I don't know about the stand mate, and I genuinely hope you're right in that we get a good result. I just hope there's no silly meltdown if we don't.

What is it with Chansiri and signing elderly footballers.

This chap is 33 in 2 weeks. His scoring record in the last 2 seasons is shocking. His goals have dried up as he's past it.

Young eager players like Borukov and George Hirst never got a chance.

There's a young eager player in the reserves called Davidson who looks a cracking player. He's 18 and that's old enough to play for the first team.

Any other team would give him a chance but we prefer to play over the hill 33 year old.

This signing has all the hallmarks of Chansiri on it. DM would never sign a player this old as his track record shows that he always prefers young players.

What a mess. There's no coherent long term strategy at the club whatsoever.

But that's how Chansiri runs the club.

Give it a rest Moore gets the plaudits for the other signings but because of his age this is a chansiri signing

It’s all about balance

Our average squad age is relatively young

I'm hoping this signing can be similar to Ryan Lowe last time we went up. Probably not expecting to play 90 minutes every game but knows where the net is and can do a steady job when we need him.

His scoring record the last two seasons isn't great, but it isn't terrible (280 goals per minute) when you remember Rhodes was similar, Paterson, Kachunga, Marriott, etc. all much, much worse!

2020/21 - 4 goals in 819 minutes = 204 mins per goal

2019/20 - 6 goals in 2079 minutes = 346 mins per goal

Plus remember - a) this was a level higher, b) Derby in 20/21 and Stoke for the first half of 19/20 were awful so didn't get loads of chances, c) he's got a more than decent record the previous 7-8 seasons before these.

I'm sure there would have been no complaints whatsoever if we went into the season with an 18 year old as our main goal threat.

Aside from Hunt every other player we've signed is under 30.

Give it a rest mate.

Wow,
Did you not read what Darren Moore said. “ Nobody comes into the club without my say so.

Hirst hasn’t scored a league goal in this country, And Borukov wasn’t good enough for our under 23’s.
We’ve had a good summer of signings and persuaded good players to drop to league 1, just give credit where credits due.
