PODCAST: Would you have Atdhe back in League One?

Recommended Posts

I would never had let the big man go

for me he was our adopted foreign exchange son

should have retired with us

could have got another 3-5 years out of him it’s not like he was going to lose pace

and he was a very useful player to have on the bench for both boxes

Probably one of our most wrongly over criticised players he contributed much more to the team and squad than people realised and was an all round nice guy

I know people get nostalgic after players leave but he wasn’t good enough it’s simple as that.

If you’re not good enough you have to work your nads off all the time which he didn’t do either.

For me I’m loving the fact we’ve got rid of these type of players that we’ve had over the past few years. The recruitment we have done this summer is far far better that anything we have done under DCs tenure so far.

I really don’t get why people ask this question. He wasn’t that good when he was here and did very well to stay 7 years with little goal return.

If he cannot hack it in the Cypriot league then why have him back?

Look forwards, not to the past.  Let’s bring in new blood.

He held up play, is better in the air and brought other players into play better than anyone we’ve got right now, and anyone we’re likely to sign

It's a yes from me, I absolutely loved the guy, and was so sorry to see him go.

I know he wasn't perfect, but he was so committed and really seemed to enjoy being at the club, which few players appear to do at the moment.

Decent strikers in the lower leagues are as rare as hen's teeth and he would certainly have cut an intimidating figure in L1.

The big fella left huge boots to fill, literally.
