I thought/ think lots of teams’ fans sing the Boxing Day thing, as it used to be the case that local derbies were always on that day.

This is true

Most clubs who have a rivalry will have sang it from way back

Makes perfect sense to me

They’ll fight forever more because of Boxing Day, ie to avenge Boxing Day

The song was being sung at least a couple of weeks before the match by Wednesday fans. Not sure if dumb blades sung it too.

I'm sure I've heard that they were singing the boxing day song before the game happened then we nicked it to rub their noses in it after. Might not be true though.

This sounds about right.

Prematurely mouthing off like a bunch of gobsh*tes then having it turned back on them when it doesn’t go to plan.. bit of a theme in Sheffield football history.

Might have another one on the way looking at their financial trajectory if they don’t go up this season.

If they don't go up this season, you would think they'll be some sort of firesale.

As others have said, they’ve mortgaged all that ahead of time. Haven’t they already started with some of this “creative accounting” in terms of loans and issuing shares etc?

The days of being able to use parachute money as, well, a parachute, seem to be over for a lot of clubs. You have to spend so much now when you go up to try and stay up that the leash seems extremely short on relying on that money when you come down.
