I think the most dispiriting thing here is how clear he makes it that, despite everything that has happened and no matter what happens regarding governance in the next year or two, he would still happily cheat all over again if he thought he could get away with it.

In a strange way, this is exactly what's been needed. Finally (after a few years) the penny has dropped/he's had to do this:

 

• No more huge, long term contracts given out
• Increased number younger, hungrier, more athletic, cheaper players to come in, develop, sell for a profit or help get promotion
• To be a self sustaining club, we have to buy /develop players and then SELL them on. Which we have been crying out for him to do when we got what looked like a good offer for one of our players.

DC has made some mistakes (which he's held his hand up to), but lets not forget he's new to all this and when you come think about it, he's the only one at the club who's consistently done what's expected of him/what he's supposed to do - put money in and tried to get success for us. That's what we want from an owner and that's what he's been doing. Sure, some things haven't worked out, but everything's been kind of logical:

 

• Invested heavily and almost got us to the Premier League in first two years. Logical gamble/attempt at fast tracking. Other clubs have done in.
• Appointed unknown (to us) foreign coach with a decent track record. Worth a try and no different to what other clubs have tried. Not every manager works out. Even Mouhrinho didn't achieve as much as people would have hoped for at Spurs.
• Appointed TP with a track record of fixing clubs and had never been relegated. In our predicament at the time, quite a logical thing to do even though the football would not be great, the final outcome at the time would have been all that mattered.

I see lots of positives coming out of this adversity. It's like the story of the Hare and the Tortoise. Maybe it's time to give the tortoise a chance to turn into a mighty phoenix.

Sorry, but when has he held his hands up and apologised for what he's done? Has he held his hands up and apologised for getting the club in a situation that means we start a season on minus points? Has he held his hands up and apologised for all the transfer embargoes?

Are you sure about that? Aside from those who manage to bounce straight back up with parachute payments a large amount of teams that got promoted in recent years broke the rules, Leicester, QPR, Bournemouth, Wolves, plenty more I'm forgetting.

I've seen harder-hitting, 18-rated episodes of 'Tales of the Riverbank' than this. Chansiri has presided over one shameful, embarrassing, incompetent, reckless catastrophe after another and you make him sound like nothing more than the helpless victim of misfortune. If I'm ever in the dock as a defendant, I hope you're in the jury, sat there with 12 pairs of rose-tinted glasses on.

I understand trying to be positive and looking forward, but are you being serious here pal or just fishing? How was anything about last season logical?

'Vast majority' may have been overcooking it slightly, but Chansiri's assertion that it is impossible to get promoted without breaking the rules is simply nonsense.  It's still very doable with a sensible spending and transfer strategy.

The rules are there specifically to prevent reckless idiots from gambling with football clubs' futures by getting them into masses of debt with no assets.

Who cares if some fans don't think he's ambitious enough.  He is sole owner - what are they going to do?

I’m just saying. By no means am I a fan of Chansiri but clubs have broke the rules and gone up. It’s a fine line and it’s a gamble. Derby and ourselves gambled and failed. Leicester and Wolves on the other hand gambled and it paid off. 
 

Who knows where Wolves would be if they didn’t get promoted the year they did. Possibly up poo creek like us.

As others have said, he cannot help but take a parting shot at the supporters. The very same supporters that have been taken for a ride and, honestly, have given him far too much leniency given how he is destroying the club. 

 

Better yet, Mr Chansiri -  how about focusing on crediting those fans (sorry, customers) who have been waiting over a year for refund?

The whole point is to try and stop the gambling.

 

The regulator might have failed at adequately punishing people when they break the rules, and the government is right to replace them with something with more teeth, but the rules are there for a reason, and it's not to be broken.
