Kane to go for 160m to city

Recommended Posts

If you want to leave your place of work, you leave. You can’t force someone to stay. Yes, perhaps in football it’s slightly different as you sign a contract for a certain time period, but he has to honour his wishes. Why would you even want to keep a player who has no desire to be there?

“ Tottenham are trying to seal a deal for Inter Milan's £60m-rated striker Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez, 23, has scored 49 goals in 132 games for Inter since joining from Argentine side Racing Club in 2018 and helped them to win Serie A last season.

He was a key figure in Argentina's Copa America triumph this summer.

Spurs took their summer spending to more than £60m on Friday when they signed Argentina defender Cristian Romero from Atalanta for £42.5m.

Winger Bryan Gil joined from Sevilla in July while Pierluigi Gollini signed on loan, also from Atalanta.

Inter are denying suggestions a fee has been agreed with Spurs for Martinez, but the Premier League club are known to be keen on the Argentine and believe they can get him.

Inter are being affected by the huge financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic on their parent company Suning. “

Suggests Spurs will sell Kane and are lining up a replacement….

Martinez seems way too good for Spurs… they’d have to give him Kane’s wages just to get him surely.

Maybe Man City should go for Martinez… ?
Good player with age on his side

Manchester City are prepared to pay €150m (£127m) to sign England striker Harry Kane, 28, from Tottenham. (Guardian)

Kane hopes his future will be more clear next week after Spurs kick off their Premier League campaign at home to City, the club that want him.

Kane’s wages aren’t a problem though for Spurs, they clearly don’t feel the need to sell him hence he will sell for an extraordinary price

Foolish for staying imo.

Runs the risk of not winning a single trophy. Would be a massive shame.

He will win something somewhere. Even if he waited until he ran down his contract, there will be a move for him to PSG, Bayern or someone in Italy if he wanted it where he'd win a couple.

Obviously if he wants the big pots like the PL and CL then presumably he will need to move within the next couple of windows. Would be interested to see if there's any gentlemens handshakes attached to this decision to stay now. A certain price agreed for him to leave if Spurs don't win anything this year etc. It's Levvy though so probably not.
