Sky sports news - Barry Bannan on his way for £1 Million

That's not how it works.

Release clause simply means if a club offers £1m to Wednesday we're obligated to accept it and allow Bannan to negotiate a contract with the suitors. Bannan then has to decide if he prefers the term of the contract being offered or his existing one. By accepting the new contract he terminates any outstanding wages or bonuses that he would have been entitled to should he have stayed.

He'd keep his wages and signing on fee. He'd also be in receipt of a loyalty bonus too which he only loses if he requests a transfer. All Bannan would lose by accepting the new contract would be the wages and any bonuses paid out during the remainder of his contract.

Could be some mischief from agents or clubs testing the water to see how desperate we are.

I love it when my water is tested.

Weren't We told by Bannan himself in an interview from couple of months ago that there is no relegation release clouse included in his contract?!

Whenever I see you Malek, I think phallic.

Massive boner talking about young players.

We are so similar, me and you.

I’ve been watching this site for years.

Nothing shocks me.

I am an older woman who knows what she wants.

Ask the steward, Roger, in CC9 on The Kop.

This is great news for all the idiots who think having Bannan on the books is hampering the development of Hunt

I did. Once before kick-off, twice at half-time then a long, slow deep and meaningful after full-time normally when we lost.

We would moan and cry together as litter was collected around us.

Good bit of business for both the club and the player.  If he goes I wish him well.  Loads more good games than bad.  Shame he didn't play further up the pitch more but he was a great link player for us, even though we didn't have many players willing to run into space for him.

Change is definitely scary but lets embrace it. We might get more from Loungo, with a more combative midfield partner. Aderinan comes with a glowing report.

We need to combative in League One.

Clever wording by Barry? I said at the time that there’s probably a buy out figure in his new contract, like Messi’s was £300m or whatever. Seems Bannan’s was £1m, no matter what league we were in.
