Sky sports news - Barry Bannan on his way for £1 Million

I thought he said he didn’t have a release clause?

But to be fair, he must have been made to sign a new deal here without one.

Fair play to him. For what it’s worth £1m for a 31 year old who no longer wants to be here isn’t terrible business.

Wonder if he genuinely meant he doesn't have a 'relegation release clause'. But there is a normal £1M release clause anyway? Nothing to do with relegation?

Disagree, if you know they are leaving you plan without them, makes no sense in preseason, be a lot different if it was league games.

Key thing here is "if you know they are leaving".

Does Moore know this, and how far in advance?

We don't have a squad. There's no depth. We don't have the option of just playing another professional instead while Bannan agrees a contract elsewhere. If he goes then I guess it's down to Hunt until he's replaced. Again, that's not a plan - that's simply working with what the manager has, which in this case is a bunch of kids filling in blanks.

Maybe.

I hope he does move on. I kind of feel sorry for him just watching him still play for us

Yes, there are some real crazy daisies on here but I’m crazy for Wednesday too.

I love the emotion, can’t wait for the new season and I’m going to try my hardest not to kick my dog to death this year like I did after the Derby game.

RIP Sinton the miniature poodle. 🙏

He was never going to stick around. Far too good for league 1 and I wouldn't blame him for wanting to play at a higher level.

This is where we are now, sadly. Time to cash in whilst he still commands a half decent fee.

Just because 'it's a million more than we would have got' doesn't mean it's a good deal for the club.

We could have got over 2x that, easy.

We've shafted ourselves by mismanagement, again.

How could we have got over £1m. If he hadn’t renewed his contract he would have been off like Reach etc for nothing. It seems to me it’s a good bit of business all round and perhaps we should thank Bannan for signing
