There was a right time to sell Bannan when we would probably have got a decent bit more than 1 million. As you say more mismanagement In covid hit market who is paying £2m for a nearly 32 year old league 1 midfielder? 3
edwinowl
It’s the wednesday way. At least we’re getting something I suppose but we’re continually getting shafted. Hopefully Moore will sort things amd take a good long look at this club from the bottom up.

I may be wrong though and £1m doesn't seem a figure Chansiri would agree to, seeing as he reportedly turned that down from Brentford last year. Thought it was said there was no relegation clause? Could be an entirely different clause

Popular Post jonnyowl
£1million for Bannan and we are having our pants pulled down. However £1million for Bannan + Dawson or Wildsmith and they have a deal!
Sefton owl
If he does end up leaving then, who currently in the team is remotely close to replacing him? With the reported £1million plus savings on wages, I would say we would be competitive in brining someone decent on loan and pay their wages

Don't blame him btw This.... explains a lot, DC still thought we were going to get in the playoffs when he signed it,. Brentford are currently third in Premiership table, trailing Arsenal & Villa. Clearly they do not need Bannan ! 1

I remember after the contract was signed he confirmed there was no release clause in his contract. Pretty sure if it was 1 million there would have been way more interest and wouldn’t still be here in July. he said there was no RELEGATION clause in it, not 'release' clause.
Blatter
Doesn’t come as a surprise. If the the reported wage was anywhere near correct it’s unrealistic for League 1. As for £1 million release figure it sounds about right for a midfield player who will be 32 this year. For those criticising the club let’s imagine we’re a Championship Club again for a moment. Imagine the pelters Chansiri would get for signing a highly paid, soon to be 32 year old 5’6” tall midfield player. 1

Surely the club wouldn’t be so stupid as to only have a million release clause!
