Sheffield Wednesday's best ever header of a ball?

Defensively : Lyons, Mobley, Pearson.

Attacking: Ritchie, Chapman, McCulloch.

Sadly, given the link to Alzheimer’s that heading seems to have I fear there will be more ex professionals suffering in future.☹️

Makes you think doesn't it. I don't want to see heading banned, but also I don't want those types of illness inflicted upon anyone.

Wonder if head guards will become more used in the future like in rugby.

Hopefully we the lighter balls we use these days this will not happen.

Think you’ve nailed it.  Can’t argue against that selection.

Back in the 80's I used to go into Josephine's a lot on Monday nights. A group of us would play 5 a side at Middlewood Rd, then hit Dickens and then Josephines (we'd also go in a fair bit on Saturday's too). Nearly always had the Wednesday players in and I don't think there's a single time I saw Chapman in there without stitches somewhere on his face. Lyons got his fair share of cuts and bruises too, but Chapman seemed to have two or three times as many.

When it came to putting your head in where it hurt Chapman never even gave it a second thought.
