Flat Owl
Every Time you would listen to Radio Sheffield if Wednesday were away in the 70s, you could bank on hearing ‘a goal for Chesterfield by Ernie Moss’ at some stage in the game… RIP.
g-owls
Such a shame. I know he’d been suffering for a while now. Ernie Moss was the manager of my hometown team Gainsborough Trinity and took them to two Unibond League Cup finals (One which they beat Boston) whilst losing the other to Altrincham at Chesterfield of all places. In the league the team came narrowly close to winning promotion to the Conference. Trinity had a decent side at that time and I think I’m right in saying Ernie only left because the board turned down his plea for a couple more additions to improve the chances of promotion even higher. RIP Ernie.
