Amazing performances from the BMX team again.

Like I said I’d rather watch this at the Olympics than golf and tennis. Olympic gold should be the absolute pinnacle of the sport and it isn’t in golf and tennis.

But then you have to get rid of loads of other things too like road cycling, triathlon, marathon arguably, boxing, that most people like to see at the Olympics

 

Then there is football, basketball, rugby 

 

It would probably be quite a lot

 

Having said that there are lots of sports out there that could take their place...but you would lose some big hitters

They get paid a wage so they’re not amateurs 

 

also if you have had a ‘pro’ fight you can still qualify for the olympics anyway

You get the worlds very best golfers and tennis players - the multi millionaires at the peak of the sport and the best in history

 

But the boxers aren't the professional title holders - i think there is one pro fighting in this olympics  - i forget the reason why he was given special dispensation to compete

 

It does seem odd though

any pro can compete if they qualify for it
